Sushi You is an absolute treat. The omakase is well curated and each successive course was our favorite of the meal. Don’t forget to BYOB but if you forget, there’s a Safeway down the block. Don’t miss out on this culinary experience if you’re looking for fresh fish, uni from Hokkaido, and a friendly atmosphere to spend an evening.

Maybe my new favorite omakase spot. Everything was perfectly seasoned and presented. Highly recommend if you like a nice, delicious omakase. The owner was friendly and non-intimidating and the service was on point. The kind of spot that every little town needs.

Excellent service and quality. Go now before the word gets out and they get really busy. Takeout is also very good. Give him a try and you'll be a believer.

Absolutely phenomenal meal! Textures and flavors were perfectly paired. My favorite was the eel with avocado! Space was intimate and server & chef were really kind and hospitable. Will definitely come back!

Mind blowing experience. Had the chef (owner) prepare his 13 course sushi dinner. The beauty of the presentations and the quality of the items were amazing. For $110 per person it is a fantastic value here in Honolulu. My wife and I felt like we were being entertained in a home in Japan.

I have been to Japan many times, and this is one of the best places I have ever been too, you feel like you are back in the streets of Tokyo. Very rarely do chefs outside of Japan get fresh fish and incredible rice, but Chef Eiichi has mastered the art of sushi. The atmosphere matches the quality of food, as it’s a small venue run by husband (chef) and wife. I have been to many sushi spots on the island, and this takes the trophy. Prices are stunningly affordable for the quality. Could not recommend this place more.

My wife and I came here on a Thursday night and it was completely empty, so we were a bit worried, but it ended up being amazing! The owner is super passionate about the food he creates and takes great care in how each plate is presented. The vibe feels like you're in a sushi restaurant in Japan. There is a ton of counter space to sit in front of the chef, but there are also separate tables if you're intimidated by that. The food was amazing and extremely fairly priced for someone from Los Angeles where sushi is usually pricey. We got to talk to the owner a lot and it was a great time, I can't recommend this place enough.

If you ever find yourself questioning whether love can be tasted, just let this place prove it to you—in exactly 13 courses.

They run the kind of omakase that makes you forget what “full” means. Each dish arrived like a tiny masterpiece, perfectly timed, perfectly balanced, and somehow better than the last one. By course seven, we were negotiating with our stomachs for more space. By course thirteen, we were both defeated and euphoric.

The chef’s quiet confidence and the server’s warmth make the experience feel like you’ve been invited into their home—if their home just happened to be a Michelin-level sushi bar. It’s the kind of spot you almost don’t want to tell anyone about, because part of its magic is that it feels like a secret.

A true hidden gem. If I could give them 13 stars—one for each course—I would. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

What a hidden gem!! My fiancé and I are visiting from Chicago and thought we knew good sushi until we ate here! The owner is also the chef and we loved that as he was very knowledgeable and his passion showed in each piece of sashimi, nigiri and roll he prepared for us. Also, if you’ve never had Shima Aji before; I highly recommend asking the owner if he has it because it was hands down the BEST and freshest fish we’ve ever had. Overall, everything was EXTREMELY fresh, delicious and super affordable for the high end quality of fish and service!

Tucked away, and entirely unassuming, this is a place you should not miss. Wonderful interactions with the owner, crazy fresh ingredients prepared in innovative ways that respect the ingredients without key flavors getting lost in flair. For a $110 omakase, it's an absolute steal. Some of the creamiest uni I've ever had!
