I dined here for the first time in 2019. It had a lot of food options. Stacks of portioned sized plates were Saran wrapped in a fridge for patrons to choose from. If I recall correctly, we were told that we have to finish every plate we choose. No leftovers otherwise... I forget. lol maybe it would cost more or something. But ok I get it. No wasting food! Only take as much as you can finish! lol They had a shelf full of sauce options. I'd prefer if the sauces were covered better, but this was before Covid19. I wish I took more pics of the inside but I was busy enjoying conversation with our neighbors. That was the highlight of the night! Made the food taste better. Seating was quite tight. The place was a bit outdated. I don't know, but it didn't feel too clean. Overall, the broth was good but I still like other hot pot places better. I wouldn't go out of my way to dine here again.

This s a family run restaurant. It has a small. And trendy menu. Service is fast and the food is rich. The stuffed French toast is delicious bu it's so rich in flavor it s hard to finish. It's a great place for family and children are also welcome. F your looking for a good fast place this is it. Weekends are busy and parking is scarce. You may have to wait a few minutes before you are seated.

so i had the pleasure to be able to go to sweet home cafe when the re-opened for a short time back in June. there is a small parking lot at this location. it's shared by the other businesses close by. depending on the day and time, you can park on the street for free. just tread the signs on when you can park and when you need to pay the meter.when we arrived. we had to sign in on a clip board outside, and wait outside until one of the SHC employees seated us. we were seated in the other room they have to the left for the main room. it has its own refrigerator, menu...the whole set-up. they had a really good system of you ordering everything from the server. you weren't allowed to grab your veggies, extras from the fridge as usual due to the pandemic. which i appreciated. a cool thing was that they offered little ziplocks to put your mask in, and they still offered the BYOB option which also is a big plus. whoop-whoop!!we ordered 2 broths, one was the thai broth and the other was the special. i like the thai broth because it's a little sour, yet super tasty. they have an array of meat options such as pork belly, brisket, etc. and such a great bonus is they give a super delicious treat at the end. it's it's shaved ice in a bowl, the top it with this coffee like pudding, pearls, jellies, and a whip cream. ugh, so good.i hope we can go back again sometime this year. such great service, and awesome food. you all would have such a great experience. #promise

Fun, personalized experience meant to be shared with a group. Satisfying, savory broths cooked independently to preferred temperature. toppings are available in the refrigerator and separately wrapped and to add to the broth. There is the ability to eat plant-based and vegan since each guest can customize what they put inside their broth. The sauce bar is a great: I loved mixing to create my own unique flavors. Shaved ice is a sweet treat to finalize the meal.

This is by far my favorite place to get hot pot! Nothing can compare to the food at sweet home cafe. I would go for the complimentary dessert alone.

Home cooking comes to mind when we came here for dinner. A good way to relax and get together with loved ones. We saw the reviews and decided to give it a try. We made it just in time before Happy Hour ended. We waited for about 20 minutes before we got our seats. But definitely worth the wait. The server explained the rules of cooking the food. The HH covers pretty much what we see in the refrigerator. The rice comes with the HH. He said if we don't finish the food, we will be charged for the remainder. He told us that we have 90 minutes to finish. The food has been packed on small dishes wrapped in clear cellophane. I chose tofu, fish, shrimp, bok choy, mung beans, seaweed, celery, and lobster balls. Joseph chose chicken, and beef to accompany his vegetables. I chose the house special broth. This broth contains anise, and other spices. It tasted heavenly with all the ingredients being cooked. Near the side wall, patrons can find some spices such as parsley, basil, and oyster sauce. Patrons can get napkins and other utensils there too. Families, friends and even dates come to Sweet Home Cafe. This place will make a perfect place to come to on a rainy or cold day.

The all you can eat special is amazing. It's self serve, you grab what you want (besides the black plates, bc those are extra charge) from the fridge. They have so many choices for what to put into your hot pot. I love the fish balls filled with roe and the cheese wontons. All the ingredients are always fresh. I like the house special broth the best! There's star anise, since type of wood, and orange peel in it. They also have a huge selection of sauces, my favorite is the sesame and the garlic butter (add cilantro too) The free dessert at the end is great too, it's got shaved ice, boba, almond and coffee pudding, and various jellies. The location is alright, the only difficult thing is that the parking lot is almost always full, so I have to find street parking most times. The place can get busy sometimes, but it's so worth it. I come here several times a year bc it's so good loool

I love love love sweet home cafe! We've been coming to this Taiwanese hot pot place before it got popular and other restaurants popped up. Now there are lots of alternatives but we keep coming back because no one does it quite as well. The broths are super yummy and they have everything we like. The prices are super reasonable and it's a great value especially if you come with lots of people. At the end of the meal you get a free Taiwanese shaved ice dessert!

The last time I was here 7 years ago, they did not have the AYCE. They do now and I ate for 10 people! :D

Didn't have a good experience dining here on a Chinese New Year night because the air conditioner was out. Eating hot pot requires to have cool, not hot & humid place. We thought that it was not nice to advertise "all-you-can-eat" then discovered that the meat dishes incurred extra charges, when paying the bill. Well, even though our friends treated, the place still left a bad taste in my mouth for employing such sordid tactics of sucking to the customers.

They haven't only you can eat all day and this rocks are pretty good. There's also a lot of choices for add-ins. Another plus is that they have beef tongue and lamb. All this would have gotten them a four star except for the last time we were there. The girl was pretty rude and seemed annoyed that we were there. We were about 45 minutes into our meal before the meats arrived. We would have understood if she had told us "sorry we're super busy and we're running behind but it's coming" vs. "it's coming in a few minutes." She told us this at least five times. I just didn't like being lied to. This was especially sad since I have been reading about this place to my friends for a while and they came all the way from California and Arizona to try. It was pretty disappointing to hear that this was one of the worst places that they have been to. On top of all this the parking is terrible. It'll be a long while before I come back, if I come back.

Came here because my daughter likes this place, but I was not impressed. Waited 45 mins for a table, and we can see that there's three tables open inside. I go in to ask how much longer to be seated and the guy tells me they can't seat a 3-top when there's a 5-top waiting ahead of us. Wtf? So you have other parties waiting outside in the rain, with empty tables inside, and you make everyone wait until the big table is available for a large group??? I've never heard of something so stupid. Food: Tonkatsu broth was ok, nothing special. They have a bunch of sauces on the side that allow you to customize your broth the way you want it, so that was nice. Lots of different meats and veggies in the coolers for the hot pot. And an interesting dessert bowl concoction that they serve you at the end. I'd give the food itself a four-star rating, but the poor service part was a big turn off. Definitely better hot pot places in town, so won't be going back here.

AHHHHH I LOVE THISNPLACE! First time coming here and MAN M, this place is AWESOME! I loved the fact that you can get up and grab all the food items for yourself except for meat and they have ALOT of options. I feel like they have more options compared to the hotspots in LA! Their veggies, fish balls, meat and everything else are really fresh. For the soup base, we ordered half house special and half tonkatsu! The soup bases are really flavorful and not too salty which I like! And at the end of the meal, they give you shaved ice! The shaved ice was probably one of the better Taiwanese shaved ice I've had! Definitely worth it! This place gets pretty busy though cause we had to wait a while before being seated!
