Tried to order 12 piece of takoyaki, the Japanese lady on her 50s told me it will take 15 min. Asked how long for 10piece and the lady said will have it ready soon. After receiving my ordered noticed that there was only 9 pieces. Returned to the cashier to report 1 piece was missing as she responded as “ok 15 min”Without apologies she told me to wait for 15 min for 1 piece. Asked for replacement because the other 9 piece will get cold. The lady said no and wait 15 min. What a joke. It was pretty obvious that She was trying to fraud us by giving 9pieces. I have asked for refund which was processed. Now you have 9 takoyaki wasted. Also Thank you for wasting our time. I knew takoyaki Yamachan since shirokiya alamoana. so sad this place has fallen down this low. They usually give or throw out foods that’s left over at the end. Can’t even take an order and fix the problem. Asked for the refund because i wanted my tip back too. Never recommend this place anymore

I don’t recommend this at all.Food is ok.Service is horrible.I was there order asking for twelve piece takoyaki. The lady said no twelve piece only ten. I was fine with that. So I ordered that as the ten pieces combo( should be $14.00).I was patiently waiting. Then , I noticed the customer after me was order twelve pieces takoyaki. I asked “how come the customer behind me can order twelve pieces but I can’t.” At that point, I was not mad. I just want to understand why but She was getting annoying and giving attitude. She said because “you will have to wait for it!” Ok!? But I still waited for 20 minutes! I let it go.Then I noticed she charged me 5 pieces (regular price two times, $1.80 more!)I was fine with that. I was still claim and not even rose my voice at all. But I can’t stand for her attitude. She even lip saying “Bxtch” to me. She said she never heard I said that. At the end, she never said sorry. She thought I was the one to make trouble. Then she asked me “Now WHAT DO YOU WANT. I am the only one working!!!!” I respected you working alone but I didn’t respect your attitude. “ I want a return.”“Fine. You want twelve pieces!? I give you one more, happy!?”At that point, I gave up arguing with her. It was pointless. I will never purchase will them again and I don’t recommend anyone there too

Takoyaki was great! So hot it burned my mouth, but it was definitely worth it!

I don't know how many times I've been going here but it's the only fresh takoyaki on the island. Use to be in Shirokiya when that was open, now it's located in the Don Quixote food area. Not much to see about good takoyaki. Freshly hot so beware when eating, you will burn your mouth ?. Worth the money. I wish they had em in San Diego. On vacation so I come everytime I'm here. Go beach, get tanned, get drinks and come here to grab a bite. I like to know how it compares to the ones in Japan by all the Japanese tourist that are here in Hawaii.Hawaii is already Japanese inspired with the history and of course all the food around the island. Broke the mouth. Mahalo.

Delicious takoyaki

Hi Jambo

I came later in the day, but the takoyaki I bought was still warm. It didn’t have a crisp outer shell (even where it wasn’t covered in sauce)The takoyaki ball is quite big, so it becomes a bit doughy when you put the whole thing in your mouth. The piece of octopus is also quite small in comparison so it’s like an expedition to find the octopus as it’s swimming in the batter as you chew. Texture of the octopus is also quite soft, which means it’s further lost in the batter. The small piece you do get has good flavour once you’ve isolated it from the batter…

Food is relatively okay but the thing that brings the star all the way down is the customer service. They are some of the most unfriendliest workers I have ever encountered. It seems like none of the employees want to be here.

Takoyaki and yakisoba wasn’t that bad. Good customer service but we got very sick after eating here. We grabbed a bento so maybe it had been sitting out, old or contaminated with something. I would not return.

Quick service with friendly workers. Decent flavor for the price. Wouldn't go out of my way for it, but if at Don Juan already, not bad for a small snack. Light and airy and hot off grill. $6.90 for 5 pieces. Ambiance, eh, its don juan food court, don't expect much.

The girl in front is very rude! I asked if they were open and she waved me off saying no no. But yet she helped another customer. I was talking to the owner's wife and the rude girl started yelling at me in front of the owner's wife and customer. I said I did not want to talk to her. I decided not to patronize this type of service. I always order from there. So the owner's wife said she made my food and brought it to me at the Greek kiosk where I patronized instead. I said I did not want it. She said she already made it and gave it to me free, that's why the one star. She apologized profusely. Do you want to be treated like this?Do not patronize!!!

I used to buy takoyaki from this place a long time ago when they used to be at Shirokiya at Ala Moana. It still the same as it was before and has the same great taste. In each takoyaki ball is a piece of octopus. The piece of octopus is tender and easy to chew. The batter is light and airy, which is how it's supposed to be. You can watch them make the takoyaki in front of you. They have these black molds that they heat up and pour the batter in. Then, they put in the piece of taco and flip it. It turns into a round ball. If you've never had takoyaki before, I highly recommend it. It's more of a snack tho. You won't get full from it unless you eat a lot of it.
