My family and I had a wonderful dinner at Tanaka of Tokyo West! This was actually our first teppanyaki experience, and it did not disappoint. The food choices were excellent and reasonably priced considering the amount and quality you receive. Our chef, Chef Kaki, also did an amazing job accommodating our 22 month old daughter as she was a little scared of the flames, utensils show, etc. He made sure to pare down the experience for her age, while still ensuring my husband and I were engaged. We will definitely return when we visit Oahu again!Parking: The restaurant is easily accessible as it is part of a shopping complex, so there is a lot of free parking.

Pricey for the amount of food, but as others have mentioned part of the price is the show. My partner and I made reservations the same day; however, when we checked-in with the front house staff helped seat another couple who walked in after us. Once seated, I was not a fan of the seating arrangement. If you do not have a party of 6 or more, you'll be seated next to strangers. Unfortunately for us, the couple we sat next to were, to put it mildly, discriminatory against people of Asian descent. As one could imagine this dampened our good evening and is one reason for the overall four stars. The service was outstanding and the prep/cooking was entertaining. However, if you are in search of expertly cooked food with unique flavors and pairings look elsewhere.

We had a 6PM reservation and arrived right at that time. We were seated at our table with in a minute. The service and food was excellent.Kid-friendliness: The kids got crayons and puzzles to keep them entertained. They also received a bowl of free goldfish to eat while waiting for the main meal.

Thank You for making my son's Bday and Girl's Day a very memorable event. My granddaughter really enjoy the chef and his culinary skills. Brought back memories of when my Dad and I used to go to the Ilikai Tanaka of Tokyo. Richard was the manager was back then. even after Richard left, we still enjoyed going there. I guess that's why I chose Tanaka of Tokyo West. I have absolutely no regrets. Thank You and the staff for a wonderful time!!!

Always a great dinner at Tanaka of Tokyo. We had Chef Joe- he was funny, engaging, and an overall good chef! Food was yummy as usual! Meat done perfectly as well as shrimp that isn't overcooked. I like the ice cream at the end of dinner, it just tops it off. My kids love this place and we always leave with leftovers, full tummy's, and smokes on our faces.

Everything was so great! Our server Luke was super friendly and attentive. We drink a lot of water and the server and manager came by a bunch of times to top off our waters. Chef Rory was amazing! He was friendly and funny and his tricks were really cool. The food was delicious. The salmon was so nice and tender.
