Tanaka of Tokyo Central

Muy buena experiencia. Un poco excesivo el costo pero vale la pena por única vez. Se avisó que era para celebrar un cumpleaños y no se recibió ningún detalle de parte del lugar. Al final se sintió un poco de presión para retirarnos por ser una de las últimas mesas.

Excellent service, everyone was so nice and accommodating. We were very impressed with Chef Kyle's skills and humor. He's a great chef and a wonderful entertainer. The food was fresh and delicious. Loved every aspect of our visit.

Tanaka of Tokyo Central Restaurant is an incredible place to dine with your family. The dine-and-show experience is truly amazing. This location is particularly convenient because it's close to the Waikiki shops. The service is simply amazing!

This used to be our favorite place on the island to eat. The food this time was not cooked as requested and was extremely salty. Plus they do not use the brown sauce on the meat like in the past which makes the food a little plane and again, salty. The lobster was fresh and good. The ribeye was under cooked and very salty. I think the chef got carried away when he was doing the fancy salting of the food. The fried rice didn't have much taste. Again, no brown sauce used on fried rice. This was the central location. Maybe better luck at the others.

Wait staff and Chef was awesome but the food was not good. There was no flavor and everything no seasoning at all.

Tanaka never disappoints. Always friendly staff and the food is great. Teppan is pricey but Tanaka is a good value.

An unexpected. We sat down around a table with eight of them. I'm sorry six other people and the grill right in the middle. The food was fantastic. The chef was great and it was not a bad value. 

We dined at the Waikiki shopping center location to celebrate my late father's birthday. Konner and Wei were both very attentive and made our experience memorable and fun! Wei gave an amazing show! All of the staff from the front desk to busboy were superb. The garlic rice is a must and the steak was very flavorful. Would definitely recommend A+++

Food was good and chef did a good job. However, I feel it was overpriced. A little bit of a tourist trap.

Patrick was wonderful on the grill - funny and engaging and a wonderful chef. We've been to quite a few Japanese steak houses...this was the best. The vegetables were mushrooms, which was a great change. The prices were better than local and the portions were huge. Interestingly, we had booked for earlier in the week and were told to do something different. We tried another restaurant and were not impressed. So we circled back for the fun of it and glad we did!

Somehow just keeps getting better. Fantastic food, attentive service and a lot of fun to boot. We always look forward to returning to Tanaka of Tokyo Central.

Went to Tanaka of Tokyo West before pandemic. Had amazing meal. Came back to Oahu and wanted to have similar experience. Went to Tanaka of Tokyo central. Tables were crowded together. Service staff kept using a shortcut between my seat and the window and crowded us carrying full trays of dirty dishes. Forgot tea. Forgot rice. Forgot appetizer shrimp. Forgot to fill empty glasses. Had to ask for everything as wait staff not paying any attention. Food was delicious but totally ruined by service staff. Had grilled fruit (I remember cantaloupe). at last visit. Not on menus. Big disappointment. Over300$ for 4 adults and two kids spent. Not impressed. Would Not recommend also tacky photo op sales during meal. Promised one free postcard. Photo was size of stamp

First time at this restaurant! It was exceptional! From the time we walked in to the service from our waitress and Chef Kyle! Conversations flow between the chef and others that were seated at our table! Definitely worth a visit for service and favorable food!

Food was delicious, prepared perfectly and that's hard to do for my wife. Chef and waitress, Mikala, we're great. Can't wait to return to Oahu and eat there again.
