I rarely eat around this part of Oahu. Since we had an errand to run near Kalihi I searched up Japanese restaurant and found this gem. What a great place — serving lots of Japanese alcohols and wide variety of teishoku choices. (Combinations are awesome) The prices are so reasonable and the service is fast and friendly. I can see why this place has a following. We’ll be back!

We ordered combinations plates. Fried oyster was delicious, came fresh and very hot. Unfortunately, chicken kaarage was very close to being cold. Would be amazing if everything came with similar temperatures. Tonkatsu and chicken teriyaki were great. Brown rice was fluffy and tender, sushi rice was nicely seasoned. The meals came with pickles and miso soup. The soup was comforting and just the right temperature.

Very stinky and smell is mix of fish and pee and most of worker's hair isn't in hair nets,and workers are unwelcoming takes a lot of time to get in even though most seats are empty

The pieces were not only larger than what we typically get back home, but the fish itself was so fresh, it practically melted in your mouth. We were seriously impressed—these were some of the best nigiri we've had. The quality was so good, we couldn't stop talking about it the whole trip! It was a bit of a shocker in the best way possible, and I would definitely say it's a standout feature of Teishoku.

Just as advertised, it is the Best butterfish in Honolulu. Shrimp tempura nice and crispy without too much batter. Ahi sashimi was fresh and nice size cuts. Also, got a free grilled Saba with a coupon from Dining Out section of Staradvertiser newspaper.
