Nice intimate atmosphere. Food is on par with a upscale steakhouse. Wish there was alittle more variety for sides but overall nothing to complain about.

The steaks were okay...they were so tasty and well cooked the last few times but for some reason this time it seems like they were rushing and charred the steak so it had a lot of black char. Also the cuts of meat seemed to have a lot of fat compared to the last times.

The experience was great and the ambiance was fantastic. I personally chose outside for dinning and there was lots of space with an easy exit back to the parking lot located behind the building. our server was kind, checked in on us, had small conversations with us. I ordered a glass of Rose which was great, but the food...the food was spectacular. I ordered the Ribeye Medium, the flavors and the burnt char was on point! I ordered the Brussel sprouts for my side and it was the perfect decision for me. The sweet salty glaze on it made me want more. last but not least the apple pie! 12/10 highly highly recommend! Fair warning they said it takes about 20min because it's baked in a skillet fresh, but once you try it, that time you waited didn't exist. highly recommend eating here! i can't wait to go back

Cutlery on Waialae Avenue delivered a truly enjoyable dining experience. From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding—attentive, friendly, and professional without ever feeling rushed. The ambiance was perfect for a Friday evening: lively, welcoming, and comfortable. My wife and I ordered the prime rib and lamb, both cooked beautifully and full of flavor. The Caesar salad was excellent, and the Washington oysters were fresh and delicious. A quick word of caution—the “Hawaiian chili pepper water” definitely lives up to its reputation and brings serious heat 🔥. The only minor hiccup was with reservations. We weren't able to secure our preferred time on OpenTable and accepted an earlier slot, though we ended up enjoying a great seat and a relaxed two-hour dinner. There were several open tables during our visit that didn't appear available in the app, but it didn't take away from the overall experience. We have no regrets about dining here and would gladly return. We were also happy we took a Lyft, as parking seemed limited and street parking in the surrounding neighborhood wasn't ideal. Overall, excellent food, outstanding service, and a wonderful evening.

We had probably one of the best weight help ever she was attentive and a great server and in the parking lot, the parking attendant was so helpful and so accommodating the one drawback was we got burnt brussels sprouts, beyond edible but other than that, our food was delicious

My experience at The Cutlery was Outstanding, The Food, Service and Small but Comfortable atmosphere was just what we were looking for. The pricing was a little much but that's what you must pay nowdays for quality food. Very satisfied with this restraunt. Will be back soon!

We ordered two different types of steaks. Both were overcooked and overly drenched in butter. The best was the appetizer everything else was subpar. Two steaks one appetizer two drinks $300 with tip. Their prices compared with the high-end steak houses in town. Maybe it was a bad night or a different cook, not to take away from the place, but our dining experience that night was bad. We both came home with upset stomachs from the food. I was hoping to try the prime rib next, but have second thoughts.

Best dining experience I've had in a while on O'ahu. It started with me trying to make a reservation online - I wasn't able to book seating at the time I wanted, so I called The Cutlery about 3 hrs prior to opening. The owner, Jordan; answered and when I explained my reason for calling, she offered to call the person who had the seating I wanted to see if she could move them to a different time. She called me back in about 10 minutes and was successful in her attempt. Greatly appreciate her effort. And her effort to please her guests, is also much reflected in the quality of the food and the service provided by her staff - excellent in all ways. Will be back.

Our first time at The Cutlery. The staff was friendly, helpful and polite. The food was really delicious. The ribeye steak, kampachi, and shrimp were well prepared, fresh, seasoned well. Great experience . . . even while the Kaimuki Christmas Parade was going on outside. We'll be back.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. The Cutlery is one of those rare restaurants where everything is truly perfect, from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave. The service? Impeccable. Every server we encountered was friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcomed. It wasn't just good service, it felt like being taken care of by family. The food? Out of this world. Every dish was perfectly seasoned, beautifully plated, and full of flavor. You can tell there's real passion and pride behind every plate that comes out of the kitchen. What really set this place apart, though, was the atmosphere. The entire staff carries this warmth that you can't fake. Even the owner, Jordan, took the time to stop by our table, talk stories with us, and make us feel like VIPs. It's rare to find a place that nails the food, the vibe, and the service all at once, but The Cutlery does it effortlessly. This is the kind of restaurant you tell everyone about, the kind you go back to again and again. Highly, highly recommend. If you haven't been yet, you're truly missing out.
