We were stopping by Don Quixote when we found this Taiwanese food truck!! We got the spicy popcorn chicken, the spicy string beans, and the winter melon tea. Tasted like being in CA again. The wintermelon tea was discounted at only $2. It was really sweet and we drank it way too fast. Everything was so good. I would likely go back to have everything we ordered again and more. I was really disappointed they didn't have anymore Taiwanese beef burrito.

Check out The Daley-There is a reason it is voted the best burger in Hawaii!!

I've seen a truck with "Taste Tea" on it dozens of times, parked in Kaimuki or driving on King Street, but I finally found it open after a trip to Don Quixote. Much to my surprise, the truck was deceptive--this isn't a mobile taste tea per se (they did have wintermelon tea available), but a Taiwanese food truck. I went around 5 and there was a short line of people waiting--as far as I could tell, they were all speaking Mandarin which is probably a good sign. They only had enough rice left for one plate, so I unfortunately couldn't have my beloved luroufan. They sadly wouldn't give me the pork and jus for me to assemble into a rice bowl at home either--so I surfeited on sides. I ordered beef rolls, spicy popcorn chicken, Taiwanese fried chicken, and scallion pancake with egg. Prices aren't bad, but there were only two people working so, understandable, they took a while. Almost an hour. The popcorn chicken, maybe because it was sitting too long, had a great taste but wasn't very crunchy, and the breading was falling off a bit. THe fried chicken was tasty though, juicy and well flavored, but my favorites were probably the scallion pancake and beef rolls. For both of these the bing had a delicious bite from the onion, a crisp outside and a chewy center. The beef rolls were filled with a generous amount of thin slices of sweet and tender beef, with slices of crunchy cucumber that added a nice extra crispness. I did find myself wanting some sort of extra sauce, so I dipped the beef rolls in ponzu which was a great combo.

Authentic Taiwanese food at reasonable price. Definitely try their TFC (taiwanese fried chicken). It tastes quite different from classic fried chicken or korean fried chicken but in a good way.Their braised items are good too. My favorites are pork ear, beef tripe and tendon. If you want something less exotic get the tofu and beef shank. They are closed on Monday. You can fine them at Poni Street or sometimes Kaheka Street. Cash and credit card.

Happened to go to Don Quiote on Kaheka St. Saw a food truck parked outside by the covered parking lot. The Daily. Hmm smells wafted through the air as I wondered what they were making and what type of food they offered. A very limited menu of Taiwanese Food. Of course I had to try the Scallion pancakes. The Popcorn chicken. The fried green beans. The Minced Pork belly over rice Plate. And a Tasty Tea for $1 ($2) when ordering a plate lunch. All tasted authentic Taiwanese with the spices they used to marinate the pork belly. Spices added to the green beans. Most items on the menu had white pepper to taste so I chose items that were not too peppery. Delicious ! I'm going back for that Minced Pork belly. So Ono over rice with cabbage and a 1/2 hard boiled egg.

Happy National Fried Chicken Day...uuuhhh yesterday July 6th lol!! After work or between events hangriness!? The Daily is a must detour to satisfy your cravings as they have so much going here than it seems. Full plate or a quick snack I'm a huge fan of the varieties they have and also the option to make it spicy as well, everything made fresh and incredibly fast the popcorn chicken was perfectly seasoned fried crispy it' never made it home as I already was munching on it with the convenient skewer provided what a super fun concept! Broccoli omg my favorite!! I did get it spicy as well and it was the perfect pair with my chicken that was already a meal itself. Taiwanese snacks, The Daily is something you can have "on the daily", thank you!!

The large fried chicken and onion pancakes are good! I wish they had better hours. The large fried chicken can get a little soggy if you don't let it breathe.

Absolutely honored to be the first to review this wonderful Taiwanese Food Truck. I just returned to Hawaii after 3 weeks in Taiwan and I really was missing the food already so my friend found this place and let me say this food truck is legit!!! Exactly how I remembered the taste and smell of the food I ate from the street vendors in the heart of Taipei, Taiwan. Everything on menu I can co-sign! Spicy Popcorn Chicken and the Beef Burrito my favorite. The Scallion Pancakes is straight up AUTHENTIC recipe. Love this spot and can’t wait to buy again. Food is made to order so the freshness is worth the wait.

Was going over to shop at Don Quixote and noticed this food truck as I was about to cross the street. Decided I'd grab something to eat here instead! Ordered the "burrito", beef with cucumber and hoisin sauce rolled in a Taiwanese wrap. Oooooo yum! I would suggest eating it on the spot while it's still crispy. Unfortunately, I had to wait until I got home and by then, it wasn't so hot or crunchy and felt oilier cuz the oils were soaked into the wrap by then. However, it was still delicious. I look forward to trying out their other foods. Located on the street by Don Quixote.

Yay for authentic tasty Taiwanese food! Look for the teal purple truck with bubbles and a sign that says Taste Tea. They sell wintermelon tea from Taste Tea. I tried: Minced pork rice: yummy diced pork belly over white rice with cabbage and broccoli Taiwanese Beef burrito: love this too but I think can use a little bit more Hoisin sauce or if can get a side of the sauce Popcorn chicken with crispy basil: perfectly fried tender pieces of chicken Braised combo: Pork ear Beef Tripe Tofu Beef Tendon Gizzard I especially like the pork eat and beef tripe Overall, a solid food truck serving delicious Taiwanese fare.

I've been eyeing here for awhile, so I was super excited to finally order from their truck! Got there right before closing and ordered a TFC (Taiwanese Fried Chicken) plate and Taiwanese Beef Burrito. TFC Plate: I had to order a classic (comfort food, you know? Haha) but it fell short of expectations. The chicken was quite dry, and light on spices. It was crispy however, but everything else was lacking, making it not very appetizing. Also, the portion of rice you get is huge and the side of veggies were hardly seasoned and somewhat undercooked. Taiwanese Beef Burrito: Typically, another food I love to order! However, this one fell short too. The cucumber slices were soggy (no crunchy, refreshing element), bit dry with the small amount of sauce, the beef I got was mostly fatty (would've preferred more meat), and the green onion pancake wasn't crispy. I did go right before closing so perhaps that's why? Overall, I would say you're getting a decent amount of food for the price you pay, but the flavors and quality can improve.

Love this place! Foods here are reasonably priced and delicious. We got the Taiwanese fried chicken and we loved it. The size of the chicken fillet was huge and tender and the way they seasoned it was pretty authentic. Popcorn chicken was also very good too (husband's favorite). We also got the $14 braised combination with beef shank/pork tenderloin/tofu/beef tripe/chicken gizzard and scallion pancake with egg!!!! Can't wait to try the rest on the menu!

Taiwanese Street Food in Hawaii.... finally!!! Ama wanted a beef roll so badly we were right there at opening. We ordered beef roll, scallion pancake, popcorn chicken, fried chicken x2, braised sampler. The truck is clean and fast. We got our order quickly and headed to the beach for a quick picnic. The smell was reminiscent of Taipei's night markets.. five spice heaven. To keep the review short... everything was perfect and just what we wanted. The scallion pancake was slightly oilier than I care for but thats just me being picky. Try this truck!!! Try this sampling Taiwanese Street Food if you have never had it. You'll become a fan.
