This is a find. Tucked away in Kapahulu. Food and service was quite good. Unique pasta dishes for Hawaii.
If you haven't tried Threadfin, you really need to. Are delicious and cooked with such skill. Even things that look recognizable will surprise you with their flavor and quality. The location is intimate and a pleasure to eat in. I highly recommend it.
This was our first dining experience at Threadfin Bistro so we tried the ala carte menu. The shared plates were well presented and very good---fire roasted octopus, hudson valley foie gras terrine, miso charred broccoli. Both of our entrees were excellent---Jidori chicken breast with lemon rissoto and crab curry noodles. For dessert we had the olive oil bundt cake which was good, but not as innovative as the other menu items. The wine list was extensive for a small restaurant with great wine by the glass selections. Despite being very busy, the servers were attentive, courteous, and personable. We will definitely return to this restaurant.
The food did not disappoint. While the menu is not enormous, everything we tried was great - perfectly cooked, thoughtful flavor combinations and portions big enough that we were both full. There's plenty of parking provided you turn into the lot behind the building. The ambience was straightforward - no moody lightly or expensive wall art - but my dinner companion and I both commented that it was really pleasant to eat a meal you could see and also in a place quiet enough that you could hear each other. This place is all about the food - and worth it - and we'll definitely be coming back to try the rest of the menu.
The food and service was fantastic. We had the hamachi and the duck and an excellent locally sourced salad. We also tried the pound cake for dessert which was moist, with a unique flavor and delicious. The ambiance is loud but the food is terrific and the service was spectacular. We were greeted with a smile and had quick, courteous service all evening.
The food and service team of Corrine and Taylor were amazing! Other than it being a little loud we had a great birthday dinner!
A pleasant surprise. Food was very good and has a nice quiet modern vibe. We will come back!
great event with good food, especially the amazing polenta with tomato sauce. Also excellent variety of champagnes
Chef Jayson and the Threadfin team always provide exceptional culinary artistry and a memorably wonderful dining experience
Chef's inventive and interesting flavour combinations made our dinner a delicious culinary journey. Service was attentive and thoughtful. The lobster noodles, simple and so well prepared. An enjoyable evening!!

Slightly hard to find restaurant, has parking The service was very good, the food very tasty but short rib plate was very small for an entree. Salmon cooked very moist. Bundt cake tiny!
For our adventure to Threadfin I invited 7 others to enjoy a superb dining experience to celebrate my birthday. The food, the service and the wine were all excellent and as proclaimed by everyone ! We will be back, the food was creative and expertly flavored for elegance and character. I loved the marriage of Thai influences into French style favorites. Top two dishes: #1 the Abalone done escargot style- a garlicy delicate frothy base for the abalone not overwhelmed by butter. #2 the Crab Pasta - a complex adventure with a hint of Kafir lime . Bravo to Chef & Staff
Chef Jason created an incredible meal for us. The clams, salads and lobster noodles was fantastic.
Delicious and creative food. Helpful, attentive staff. Hard, uncomfortable seating. You need to ask for ice with water.
Give a try! It is in Kilohana Square and there is ample parking. The staff is genuinely nice and attentive to your needs. The clams as an appetizer is a must! The broth has flavor that you do not want to waste; it's not too spicy.. Use the bread to get every drop. It is even worth it to get an extra serving of bread! We all ordered different entrees and no one was disappointed. The flavors were on point and enough to satisfy you but not to the point of being totally stuffed! I think the location has not given this restaurant enough publicity. Give it a try!
