I visited on 1/25/25 while visiting Honolulu. I loved having this vegan option while exploring the Chinatown area of Honolulu. We had a banh mi, fried wontons, and crispy noodle stir fry. It all tasted great! One thing to note, the restaurant was a little confusing to find at first. You enter doors from outside and then the restaurant is to the right through another door. The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 because I do question is there is any non-vegan cross contamination… but they advertise being vegan and it tasted good! Two of us vegan, and the other 4 were omni and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. We had your usual vermicelli bowls and summer rolls and fried rice. It was all so good! I also had a Vietnamese coffee and they had vegan condensed milk (coconut?) And it was delicious. Staff is super nice. Restaurant is small, but with nice big and bright windows. Highly recommend!

Vegetarian options: So many vegan options!

Dietary restrictions: Great for vegans or vegetarian

Parking: It's Chinatown. Parking sucks

Wheelchair accessibility: There are a couple of shallow stairs in front of the main entrance. You may be able to pull a wheelchair up them. Our wheelchair person (grandma) was able to use one leg and hopped the two low profile stairs easily.

One of the best vegan foods I have had with every bite bursting with flavors. You can't go wrong with ordering anything here. The lemongrass tofu was an absolute bomb! The portion size here is huge. Order one dish less for your party or be ready to take leftovers. The place and the seating were not so appealing but don't let that deceive you. Most people we saw seem to have been regulars here. The service was super friendly and felt like a family run restaurant.

Extremely delicious, with Vietnamese dishes you do not often find in the continental US

Got the pho, was very delicious. Food comes with pandan water. Staff doesn’t speak English. Easy to find in Chinatown, right next to the big market. This place does advertise itself as a fully vegan restaurant (I didn’t look at the drink menu). Updated from previous review on 2024-12-30

Vegetarian options: I am the one who sit across Lynn Dang’s family and witness the conversation between the waitress and Lynn Dang’s father.
About the tip , the waitress said either cash or can tip charge on the card but the charge should be more than $10 with food and you can add tip this is up to you. But I never heard tip cash only!!!!?????
I admitted that day they served food as the same the only instead of thick noodles they served thin noodles for Bun Hue when they ran out of it and didn’t informed the customers in advance but still served with thin noodles. The waitress didn’t know until the customers complained. She came in and checked with the chef and was told that thick noodles were not ready and were still cooking. Then the owner came out and apologized . She addressed this issue to the chef for not causing any problems to the dining room.
Also she stated she paid $130 and showed only 3 bowls of Bun Hue made the readers confused why so expensive actually her family has some take out for her trip back to mainland. I saw the waitress was very attentive and enthusiastic in her job.
I just regular customer but I just give my opinion and want to expose the truth when it seems unfair for their business and Lynn Dang should rephrase her word otherwise it will effect their reputation that she try to gain everyday.

The first time I came, the bun bo hue was spicy and flavorful (my first photo) . There was a variety of vegetables too! My family and I came back the next few days and all of us ordered the bun hue again (including to-go dishes). It was terrible. They put vermicelli noodles in bun bo hue! Who does that? And our broth was seriously so watered down.. no flavor at all (second photo). I feel like they only had enough ingredients to make 1 bowl and watered it down to make 3 bowls. There was barely any vegetarian meat in our bowls either. We complained and they said they had “no time to prepare the big noodles”. WTH? Why didn’t you tell us while we were ordering that you had run out??

We had spent over $130. At the end of it all, they had the audacity to ask us to tip with cash only and not with my card.

If you want inconsistency then go for it and maybe you’ll be lucky to get a decent dish. They really should take some pointers from temple food.

This place is in an Asian area of Honolulu. It was a little hard to find and the staff doesn’t speak much English, but the food was great and not expensive,

Thuong An Loc Vietnamese Vegan Restaurant will always be a place that I go to when I'm in Honolulu. The food is good, the menu is appealing, and the staff is great. They provide generous portions without sacrificing flavour. The restaurant is parallel to a Vietnamese grocery store located in the same building.

Vegetarian options: The menu has many options that fit a variety of dietary restrictions.

Dietary restrictions: Their menu is completely plant based.

Kid-friendliness: Relaxing atmosphere, children are welcome.

Wheelchair accessibility: Located street level.

Delicious vegan Vietnamese food in tiny mom and mom type shop. Don’t be discouraged by the amount of stuff covering the walls as the food is great. Especially appreciated the faux chicken.
