Bruh bruh BRUH! Now, this place is a hole in the wall that needs to be celebrated and supported beyond all means! It is small, maybe seating for just a few people, but don't let that stop you. Get yours to go if need be, just go. Braddah behind the counter is living his dream, and besides being super nice, he has created some delicious food! This stuff is the bomb. This is now my first consideration for future mexican food desires. I had the mexican hamburger burrito (smothered, duh!), and the plate overfloweth. Definitely worth the price, and it was quite the struggle to finish all of it because there was so much, but I managed to do so in one sitting. It was delicious. Roll the dice for streetside parking, but there's also parking lot just a little ways walking distance on the corner of Nu'uanu and Vineyard. We'll be back, Tio!

Food was excellent. We had the Tamale plate, Chile Relleno plate, & Chicken Quesadilla. All were great. Liked the green sauce better than the red. Limited parking and seating but worth the effort. Option would be to order takeout or delivery.

2023.08: great little hot spot for very unique regional NM Mexico fare. Primary a take away place but there are a few tables inside. It can get hot inside during cooking. No beer just sodas.

Delicious tamales and gluten free too. Lots of other options if you don’t like tamales too.

These New Mexico version of tamales are really good. Tio's also sells frozen by the dozen, which is what I did. Anyhow, I'll be getting more! I highly recommend you do as well.

This. is. good! Good Mexican food (even compared to places on the mainland that aren't too far from Mexico). Predominantly a lunch spot. Don't steal my take out order time if I let you in on a secret: also Saturday breakfast (opens at 8AM). Some special items for breakfast. They also make great fries (who would have guessed?)

Explosive flavors that are carefully defined for the food lovers palate. I was grateful to be introduced to this place and wondered why I never knew about it before. I'll be back! There is street parking with a coin meter, the owner is very friendly and the food was super hot and prepared in the exact amount of time he said it would be when I called my phone order in. I just wish I took photos to share. I only have a few left overs because the serving was so robust and I kinda wanted to eat a little later on too!

Great taste of home, top notch customer service. Rare to find hatch certified green chi-lie on island. Love that the traditional pork Chile verde was adapted to the vegan customer without losing its original Chile verde taste. Menu is simple but has all the staple dishes of New Mexican food. Chile verde was able to achieve my craving of heat without becoming overwhelming. Carne Asada fries were perfectly balanced with spice and rich taste. Overall this restaurant fits the hole in the wall vibe, with small town authentic tastes. Highly recommend visiting Tio's!

Best place ever for New Mexican food. My family loves it. Food is reasonably priced, large portions and very good. The owner, Ray obviously cares about his business.

Came here for the first time today and had the tamale plate and smothered burger. The food was delicious and the owner is super nice! We will be back to try other things that we were interested in.

Always searching the island for Mexican food and this place did not meet my expectations. Had really high hopes for this place too :( Carne Asada Fries 3/5 The fries were very soggy and hard to finish. The carne Asada was not seasoned well and tasty overly salty. Chicken Chile Verde Burrito 4/5 This was decent. The Chile verde was good though. Maybe it was an off-day (I hope) considering the glowing reviews. Parking in the area is difficult so I recommend doing takeout when you can.

Prepare yourself for food comas! This hole in the wall restaurant is awesome, with amazing New Mexico style Mexican food. Get the tamales and taco plate! The hot sauces are on point and spicy. The owner is so nice. Call ahead to place your order.
