I'm a fan of tiki drinks, so naturally I was drawn in by the name alone. However, the menu they offered was for the Mexican restaurant next door and included mostly margaritas. I asked if they could do a Mai Tai and the bartender said yes. The Mai Tai was a touristy type, sweet with fruit juice, but also strong and decently balanced. I liked it enough to get a second, and the bartender was super helpful and quick. However, I can't help but be let down there wasn't...
Stopped in for a few quick libations. My husband had a couple beers. I asked the bar tender, Ramone, if he could make me a spicy mezcal margarita (something that wasn’t listed on their main cocktail list), and oh my did he deliver! He asked if I wanted spicy or extra spicy (pro move), I went for the extra spicy. He muddled in some fresh mango and a Hawaiian plum, rimmed the glass with tajin, and topped it with a flower. Not only did the drink look gorgeous, but it tasted delicious!...
RJ is the best bartender, possibly on the island.Tipsy Tiki, is tucked away in the Kuhio food court.I had his take on an old fashion & hibiscus ginger marg. Both were an amazing drinks respectively and deserve their own unique descriptions. But you won’t find them on the menu.Great vibes, wonderful live music, a must visit location on the island. Be warned it gets busy and every drink is made with care.
