Traditional Japanese yakitori restaurant, the place is small so I recommend booking in advance.
The food is good and reasonably priced as it is outside of the most touristy areas.
We were a group of 7 people. The way of ordering food (filling out a sheet) is not practical for large groups, and the fact that you can only divide the bill in two is not the most comfortable either.

Not an authentic yakitori. If you know what a true yakitori is supposed to be like, you would realize it just through the grilling technique and the tare flavor. The chicken tails are moist but teriyaki flavor was lacking. However if you’re craving for yakitori, it’s an ok place to try.I think the only dish that was made right was the takoyaki.

Overpriced and low quality chicken. Skewers were either undercooked or overcooked. Chicken liver was dry, charred to near dust, and blackened completely. Chicken skin was deep fried instead of grilled. Chicken wings were undercooked and flavorless. Service was great though.

Amazing place I never knew existed. Food and service was beyond my expectations. Like any restaurant it can get somewhat noisy, but it’s not unbearable at all. We’ve made a reservation over the phone. Very nice to see people enjoying themself even with restaurant at full captivity. I cannot recommend anything since menu is simple and diverse at the same time. It will be a little Smokey so maybe wear comfortable clothes you don’t mind having slight smell of food being cooked. There’s only a handful of parking right outside the restaurant and stalls are very tight. We prefer to park on king street just so our car wouldn’t get any damages from cars being so close. I’d prefer the bar seating as the chairs are cushioned opposed to wood seat table. Expect to be there for a good hour or more if you plan to eat several plates. I don’t think they mind you as long as you pay to play. All in all a very tucked away hidden gem that we enjoyed and would love to visit again.

If you are looking for a tasty off the mainstream place to eat with Japanese style cuisine, then this is the place to eat! Izakaya skewers, Japanese beer, awesome service! I think our table tried half the menu and everything was tasty. Parking is a challenge though, but if you don't mind walking, the food is worth the wait!

If you are looking for some great Yakitori. This is the spot! Located on South King St. Right next to Imanasu-Tei. An awesome bar to get together with friends to drink the night away. Walking distance from UH. You go through the Stan Sheriffs like you are going to 7-11 and you will reach it. They give you a check list for your menu so roll call is suggested when ordering for a medium to a large party. But please be curtious to the other guest. lol The Yakitori is a must have. Grilled to perfection. But what I really like is to finish off with ether a ramen or a grilled rice ball (yakionigiri) Shoyu or Miso. Both delicious. If you want something sweet, they got some delicious gelato to satisfy your sweet tooth.
Parking: Parking is free. If the restuarnt is busy, parking can be a little difficult but if you park in Nijiya's parking, you should be fine. You may pay for parking.

I came here because I wanted to eat yakitori in Hawaii!
They also had yakitori, beef tongue, and fried skewers, and they were all delicious! ! ! (I forgot to take a picture of the important yakitori)
Alcohol is also in an easy-to-drink price range! Personally, I was very happy that there was a nice wine in it.
It was a casual and easy-to-use shop!

*The parking lot is small, so you have to find a place to park nearby.
I went there expecting good taste, but it wasn't as grilly as I expected.
I ordered 18 menu items, but none of them felt particularly delicious.
Authentic yakitori location with Japanese people running the restaurant and grilling as they do in Japan. Reasonable pricing with a skewer for $2.50 each but it does add up. We had 20 skewers between 2 people and 6 separate dishes and left so full. Would recommend ordering less ? the Agedashi tofu was probably my favorite with the sweet, savory, crispy, and soft texture all in one. Bacon wrapped around quail eggs, enoki, or tomatoes were also very solid. Chicken thick with the green onion was also nicely flavored for just the salted version. Oh and the beef tongue is a good one to order just salted too. Many of the skewers offer the teriyaki flavor or just salted option, we did mostly salted vs teriyaki. I would have skipped the meatball option, since the flavor only came through on the outside. I also recommend a salad with all the meat dishes to balance it out — we had the daikon salad which is something I’ve never had. It was very vinegary but paired well with the meats. Overall spent around $133 (without tips yet) for the two of us. Parking lot is tiny but we got lucky with a spot.
Recommended dishes: Agedashi Tofu, Yakitori, Bacon Wrap
"It's a nice shop that locals like, but please check your receipt before paying."
The draft beer was around 500 yen, and I was really satisfied with the taste and price. I can speak Japanese and the menu is written in Japanese, so I didn't have any trouble at all, but when I looked at the receipt to write a review, I found that two items were incorrect. 2 items were entered as 3 items each, and if I hadn't checked to write a review, I would have just paid.
