Nothing that special, location could be better but no real complaints

Hands down the best and most authentic açaí I’ve ever had in the United States — and it’s in Honolulu.

Great value but not the highest quality

This is a great place to stop by and get an açaí bowl. You can get the bowl Hawaiian or Brazilian with many options of toppings. It’s kinda hidden a bit and you have to go some stairs at the corner but there is wildlife EVERYWHERE. SNALS. SNAILS. SNAIL. Huge selling point.

Beware: they may charge more than what's shown on their menu.

When i found that i was charged $1 more than what i expected and asked why so, they said hawaiian bowls cost $1 more than brazilian bowls. I asked then why they didnt have that info on the menu, they just casually walked off. No apologies, no correction of the charge.

I hate having to write bad reviews, but think that these fraudulent business practices are really unfair and they should be corrected. They are charging just a slight bit more to the extent that customers won't necessarily fight for it. Regardless of the amount, I think it's gross to run a business unethically and fraudulently. I will be disputing my credit card company.

My wife and I visited Tropical Tribe at Ala Moana regularly over a two-year period, always ordering the large Brazilian-style açaí bowl with premium toppings. We'd take it across the street to enjoy on the Hilton Vacation Club's lanai overlooking the marina, catching some spectacular sunsets along the way.

The açaí base itself stands out with a high concentration of genuine açaí flavor. The Brazilian style preparation skips the apple juice that many other shops use, which gives it a more authentic taste profile. For those who prefer the apple juice sweetness, they offer that option as well.

What really sets this place apart is the granola texture. It has just the right amount of chew while maintaining a satisfying crispness. After trying açaí bowls at numerous locations, this is the only place that consistently nails this balance. The premium toppings complement the base well without overwhelming it.
The quality remained consistent across dozens of visits over two years, which speaks to their operational standards. If you're in the Ala Moana area and want a solid açaí bowl, this is worth your time.

Finding this place was a bit tricky because I did not realize it was downstairs from the Main Street. It’s a small shop, but with wonderful açaí bowls and service. The “premium” bowl was delicious . Their white chocolate macadamia latte was amazing. It had such a great taste to it. The lady who helped us was the sweetest person and had such a great attitude and provided excellent service.

A new friend recommended @tropicaltribehi close to our hotel, so we decided to check it out today.

It was a little tricky to find it since it wasn't in the upper level. We stopped at Subway to ask and found it at the lower level.

Hubby and I shared the Hawaiian style small bowl with premium topping, which had bananas, strawberries, blueberries, granola, and honey. It felt like I was eating ice cream. Just enough to share. Highly recommend!

We ordered the Brazilian style açaí bowls and the cheese balls and it was all delicious. I eat açaí often and this place makes it better than any other place I’ve tried. Great flavors and quality.
