We had a disappointing breakfast experience. For $30, I expected more than a waffle that was served cold and hard, accompanied by imitation maple syrup. My wife's meal was equally unappetizing; the potatoes had a mushy, reheated texture, and the egg on her eggs Benedict was cooked solid. Although the server was pleasant, they did not check on our table until long after our food was delivered, we had finished what we were willing to eat and were ready to pay.

Really awful eggs Benedict -- one of the eggs was way overcooked (solid yolk), and the hollandaise sauce lacked flavor. Also 2/3 of the plate was these nasty boiled potatoes that seemed like they'd been cooked yesterday and microwaved today. The Belgian waffles came out completely cold, I'm assuming because they were premade. $70 for two breakfasts with no drinks. Stay away!

Unfortunately, our experience was quite disappointing. While the restaurant’s exterior and location are impressive, the quality of the food did not live up to expectations—especially given the pricing. The meals were extremely overpriced for what was delivered, which sadly felt comparable to, if not worse than, fast food. In fact, the dishes we had tasted more like something from the supermarket’s freezer section rather than a meal crafted by a qualified chef. The pasta, in particular, was of very poor quality. On a positive note, the gentleman who served us was absolutely lovely and very attentive, which we appreciated.

Over priced for the food, nothing special. Service was okay, there are more options with better food and pricing near by.
We just checked in the hotel and walked to this place thinking it would be a good meal, we wish we would have looked at the reviews and took time to find better food, especially in Hawaii. Keep walking along the beach side or even the village, you will find some great places. Dont get stuck here.

The hostess Fran behaves disgustingly, as if I came not to a restaurant, but to her home, and I demand to be seated, she behaves very strongly and disrespectfully in a client restaurant. I ask the management to send her to courses in manners and etiquette of communication with people.

Do not get any seafood items from here. As many of the comments mention - the shrimp is very undercooked and I got multiple days of food poisoning from the shrimp salad, don’t let it ruin your trip.

Unfortunately the staff is actually very kind but quality of food is not worth the risk.

Great sunset view! Drinks and food were pretty good. The hamburger needed a little more seasonings, the servings were pretty good to share.

Tropics Grill and Bar offered a great dining experience with a few minor hiccups. The restaurant has a stunning beach view that instantly elevates the atmosphere. They also have a clever setup—a stringed net enclosure over the outdoor seating area—to keep birds away, which was a thoughtful touch that added to the comfort of the experience.

The highlight of the meal was the garlic shrimp, which was absolutely amazing. It’s hard to put into words how good it was—perfectly cooked, flavorful, and absolutely worth trying. The popped corn shrimp was also fantastic, almost as good as the garlic shrimp, though it didn’t quite surpass it.

On the downside, one dish we ordered—a seafood soup or bowl—was a disappointment. It seemed like boiled water with random seafood and an egg, lacking both flavor and appeal. We sent it back and opted for a salad instead, which turned out to be delicious and made up for the initial letdown.

The restaurant wasn’t overly busy when we visited around 5 to 6 p.m., which made for a relaxed and enjoyable experience. While the garlic shrimp, popped corn shrimp, and the beautiful view almost pushed this to a perfect score, the poor quality of the seafood bowl keeps it at 4 stars.

Note: The photos I uploaded are sourced from online since I was too immersed in the food to remember to take pictures myself. The bird netting feature might not be visible in older photos but was a notable part of the experience during my visit.

Overall, Tropics Grill and Bar is a great spot for its atmosphere and standout dishes like the garlic shrimp and popped corn shrimp, but avoid the seafood soup if you go.

Terrible service the waiter was very forgetful. And neglected to remember our order. The food was very mediocre for a very high price. There are a lot more better places you can eat in the area than this

Price is definitely expensive, but it’s part of Hilton so that’s expected. Service has been good each time I’ve been, the salad with chicken is great and the beers are cold! Nachos weren’t great, felt like they were from 711 with the liquid cheese sauce, but hey!

Been coming to Tropics for 10 years, over the last year the food and service have improved. The service was always good but it’s better and the food is honestly really good. Quality of the Ahi on the salads is surprisingly good! Deserves a better rating.

Only 3 stars because the bathroom was without soap all day. The servers said they were asking maintenance from Hilton to come all day and they weren’t coming. Food and servers were great.

We only ate at the Tropics on the last night of our stay and we loved it. The view of sunset was spectacular, excellent service and amazing food. It is expensive but you are in a resort on Waikiki beach, so you should expect that for a place like this. Highly recommend!

Ok service, bar food with high prices, the “view” is not worth it, if you have the opportunity walk a little further and you will find better options, similar prices
