Debbie K.I went to Tsukenjo to buy dinner for my Mom and I. I bought Baked Spaghetti and Sweet and Sour Spareribs for my Mom and Baked Spaghetti and Pot Roast with Gravy for me. The Baked Spaghetti was kinda sweet and the Sweet and Sour Spareribs tasted like cooked only in vinegar sour. The Pot Roast with Gravy was good. Maybe I will go back and try other menu items. The Ladies are friendly and patiently helps you.

My wedding was in Hawaii on 10/2, I needed to eat something before my hair appointment that day and stumbled upon this little gem. I ordered the pork Loco Moco and fell in love with their food and hospitality. I went back the following morning and took my son and son in law to try it out. Of course they loved it as much and I did. If you happen to be in the area definitely give this spot a try. The food is delicious and the staff is so sweet and attentive.

Excellent breakfast. The french toast breakfast is made with Hawaiian sweet bread and is really really good.

My first time coming here and I got to say, it's really good. From my understanding they rotate their menu daily but repeat every week. I went around lunch and there was a line but it moved really quick. This place is nice because all the food is already made so it's more like grab and go than wait 25 mins for ur food to cook. Parking isn't the most convenient but when you can get a street spot right out front, you're golden. The miso chicken fell right off the bone and the fried chicken had good flavor. (Still prefer zippys fried chicken tho) you can pick between toss salad or Mac salad. The Mac salad was really good and not too Mayo-y Overall really enjoyed the food here and would recommend stopping by!!

Quiet and peaceful place! Reasonably priced and Ono food! The lady who runs it is very nice!

Had a rare morning off getting my car serviced downtown. After doing a little shopping in Chinatown, I made my way to Tsukenjo's for brunch. They are located near the Union Mall walkway on Bishop Street between Beretania and Hotel Streets. It's mostly take out, with about 5 2-person tables available. Craved breakfast, so I got the Local Special (2 eggs, rice, 2 pieces each of Spam, Vienna Sausage, & Portuguese Sausage) with the fried rice upgrade (+$1). My usual, the Early Bird Special (1 each of everything in the Local Special), is only available until 8 am. My food came out soon enough, nice and piping hot! The fried rice had a decent amount of meat in it. Meat, eggs, and rice, the perfect local breakfast for me! Tsukenjo's is another restaurant with rotating daily specials, can't wait to try their baked chicken! Repeat and recommend!

I love this place! It's not fine dining but it's great food at an affordable price. Local Special was excellent.

I've dined here several times and have concluded I won't anymore. Yes for $10 you can get a mini plate which is enough for lunch for most. However, food is generally mediocre. For example the roast pork isn't sliced like most places it's basically Kalua pig with gravy. The garlic ahi was not tasty and raw inside which would have been ok if it was tender but it wasn't. The fried chicken is just ok. I think part of the problem is nothing is cooked fresh. Good sits in warmers which is great for speed but not for quality.

I try to go on Thursday, the miso panko chicken is so yummy. Most of the time I get it as a combo plate. Everything I tried has tasted good! For the price, you can't go wrong. Forgot to take picture, was so excited to eat! ?

Tsukenjo has the best Hawaiian plate every Friday. Parking can be a problem but we street park near triangle park by the fire station.

Terrible. Can't even cook sunny side up correctly. The egg white is still raw!

This is a very affordable place. $13 for a regular plate. Came for a roast pork with gravy but it was sold out. They had a few sold out items by noon so better to come early. Went with the pastele stew option and I was very happy with the serving size. The flavor was a bit off to me though ... reminded me of pork guisantes. I still thought it was pretty good, would definitely return. The two ladies are incredibly fast. I swear they got through the line of 6 people in under ten minutes. Recommend if you're very hungry and in the area.
