Noooooooooooooo!!!!! You can't be closed!!! Came here for a birthday dinner at Tsuyu Ton Tan and was so excited for cheesecake for dessert. My heart is broken! I am completely bummed! Now I must settle for cheap hot fudge sundae from McDonald's, which doesn't come with nuts because of covid. #fcovid!

Not sure why this place is still closed..... everything around here is already open. Have driven here twice and it is still closed ?‍♂️?‍♂️

Not many customers and the wait was long for this overrated and expensive cheesecake.

Hubby and I came to try the original cheesecake and it was just ok for us. It's very light and fluffy and not too sweet which I liked. Would be great with a cup of coffee. I am glad I got to try it but I most likely won't ever want it again. Hubby said it was just ok as well. Service was quick and friendly too.

Honestly not bad overall. I don't need to come back again any time soon but I can tell people where to get a Japanese cheesecake for the first time. fair price and quick service.

Located on the second level food court. Ordered the mochi donuts, delicious and chewy! The cheesecake was the same fluffy goodness however it costs $4 more on the island than mainland. Definitely try the donuts!

The worst strawberry banana smoothie ever. No banana at all, the lady added some flavoring agent and that was it and some ice. Dumped the whole drink.

First let's talk about the cheese cake!!! Yes yes and yes!!! It's light and fluffy with micro bubbles throughout! Like if NASA made a cheese cake in space and then they sold it to a company to make them as an as seen on tv item, but actually good. The milk tea was exceptional as well. Thank you Uncle Tetsu.

Review #033 - 2020 After dinner, we decided to walk around Waikiki & we were craving some desserts so I decided to look for Kulu Kulu and it just so happened to be in the same complex as Uncle Tetsu. I've had their Japanese cheesecake on many occasions from their San Mateo, CA location so I told my brother that he should try it. He was actually craving a cheesecake so he didn't mind giving it a try. Sadly, the girl gave us each a sample piece and none of us liked it. I think the sample pieces were old or something because it tasted nothing like what I've had. If this was my first time, I would have written Uncle Tetsu off immediately. Luckily, since I've had their cheesecake tarts before, I decided to order one for my brother & his wife to share. They both said it was much better! My brother also ordered a red bean freeze drink, and it took over 15 minutes to get one drink and there was no other customer there. My poor brother must have been on a bad "wait for your food" kind of night.

Had an Uncle Tetsu's cheesecake in Osaka so when I saw that they're here I knew I had to get some cheesecake. It was as good as I remembered, fluffy and melt in your mouth goodness. Two of us vanquished a whole cake.

This is not your typical cheesecake. More like a light cake. My iced coffee was very sweet and theirs donuts too. Don't get fooled by the presentation and colors. Not recommend. All I can say is that the place is very clean.

This Uncle Tetsu location was average (comparing to the Bay Area location). The staff was quite blunt, and they had issues with their POS, so had to wait for them to figure it out. No samples at this location. Cheesecake was quite cold, and we ordered a mochi donut as well. Was also cold and lacked flavor. Your typical Japanese cheesecake. Don't expect too much!

I love Uncle Tetsu Japanese Cheesecake and was so excited to find this inside the outdoor mall food court in Waikiki. I bought the whole cake since it was only $11 and makes sense since I will likely devour all of it (as opposed to just a slice and wanting more!) Aside from the delicious cheesecake, what I love about this place are their smoothies and refreshing drinks. I ordered a watermelon juice, strawberry and banana smoothie, and honeydew icee. Mmm....they were so fresh and fruity!!! So delicious! They're made to order, so you have to wait for it but totally worth it for something healthy and thirst quenching. I would definitely come back here for all of the above!

I've been dying to try Tetsu for forever, since it appeared on my instagram explore feed. I love Japanese desserts, and this cheesecake looked really light and fluffy. So Japanese cheesecakes have the texture of a fine sponge cake, it tastes much like a Filipino mammon from Goldilocks especially the coffee. Not creamy in any way like a traditional cheesecake you might be used to. My favorite probably was the coffee but they also have original and matcha. They also sell cheese tarts, which are more dense and cheesy (duh). More like what i thought the original would have more of this cheese flavor. I personally prefer the lighter creamier version of these cheese tarts at Bake Cheese Tart in SF.

My family and I have been wondering what all this fuss was about for Uncle Tetsu Japanese Cheesecake. We are cheesecake lovers but never had a taste of this new crave for Japanese Cheesecake. .and we we wondering if it would be worth a 20 mile drive from Pearl City to the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center in Waikiki to try it out. On Saturday, October 26, 2019, . my Hula group and family, were invited to perform at a special book launch event for the book, Stuck On Aloha. What better day to celebrate and surprise my family with the Japanese Cheesecake. I asked my driver if he could pick up 3 Japanese Cheesecakes so I could surprise and thank my family for always supporting me with my hula and hula dancers. After lunch, I made like I had an important announcement. . everyone was quiet and excited. . I passed out the Cheesecakes and boy my family were happy!!!! The smiles on their face were priceless!!!! Uncle Tetsu Japanese Cheesecake is truly worth the drive for!!!! VERY DELICIOUS. .ir as we say in Hawaiian. .ONO YOU KNOW!!!!
