FYI this place is closed. It’s non existent, bunch of constructions going on at the location
I've had the opportunity to, over the course of a few years, visit Volcano shakes while on vacation. We really enjoyed our first few visits. The gals that worked there were really quite friendly, and while we were never overwhelmed by their milkshakes, they were decent and there weren't many other dessert options in Waikiki Beach. I have to say though, we were really disappointed during our most recent visit. We had dipped in to Volcano Shakes upon our arrival to Honolulu, bu were to full and too exhausted to wait around. The next night, before heading over to grab a shake, we decided to stop at the sushi restaurant next door (a tiny hidden gem called Hana No Soto that I highly recommend. Seriously - do yourself a favor and try it). While enjoying a nice, quiet dinner, the gentleman from next door (the one running the shake shop) stopped in. He was immediately very abrasive and aggressive with the sweet server (who did an amazing job despite the fact that she spoke broken English). He proceeded to lay into her, telling her that because their establishment did not sell single cups of soup (which was obviously something that the owner decided they wouldn't do), that he would tell each and every person who came into his shop (it's generally pretty dead) not to eat at the sushi restaurant next door, and then stormed out. I have to say, I find his behavior so appalling and disturbing that I will never go to Volcano Shakes again. I don't believe that behavior of that nature is acceptable, nor necessary.
We went the Dec 26th and they opened about an hour late (that's kind of an island thing from what we could tell). The cost was $14 or so for a shake. They were good and the kids loved how big they were. Unfortunately they were out of about 1/3 of the shakes when we went, including the ones we wanted and they could only take cash. Still good though.
Shake was decent, nothing special. I am legitimately mad at this shake for even existing. Out of most shakes by 7pm, so if there's something you want go early. $17 for a "shake." I am pretty sure I have diabetes now.
Really good shakes!!! They are huge!!!! They're definitely big enough to share with someone. They are pretty expensive too, so sharing kind of takes down the price a bit. The presentation is great - really good looking shakes. They have you order on an iPad which is kind of weird. There is no signage from the street, so it's a little difficult to find. Check them out!
Amazing shakes. They are absolutely huge and overflowing. I cannot believe this place is so unheard of.
My wife and I stopped in 3 times when we were on Waikiki. Outstanding shakes. Never seen such a desert spectacle.
Looks great but didn't like enough to finish. Strawberry flavor seemed artificial and shortcake too bitter to eat. Maybe will try another flavor, but not sure due to cost and first experience.
Not worth the money. We were pretty excited to come here. We paid $17 for a cool looking shake, but it took forever to be served and was very melted and not very big. We had a total of 6 shakes, we were the only ones there and they all came out separately and with too much time in between, like the first one was gone by the time the next one was served. It looks amazing but it taste was just ok. Please serve cold, thick shakes!
If you go in the evening expect to get what's left over, not what you actually want. It was so hot inside ordering so it was a good thing there were no seats in there. The seating outside on the front porch was ok... unless it's dark outside and the roaches are out. I moved quickly after having a couple of gigantic cockroaches too close for comfort for me and I was no longer interested in eating my $18.00 cookie shake.

Incredible. These are not shakes. These are insane. A large chocolate shake with a large piece of red velvet cake perched on top of the glass, the the whole thing smothered in whipped cream. Both shake and cake were really good. Plenty enough for two, may e three or even four people if you are not too greedy. Minus a point for being out of six of their eight flavors. From comments we heard, that may not be uncommon. Good thing we like red velvet.
lovely milkshake parlor. great variety of milkshakes for all tastes. be aware, payment is by credit card only
Shakes are as amazing as they look!!! The St Hélène’s one was our favourite (we tried 3!!) Only get 1 for 2 people- even if you love dessert, one is too much for one person!!!
We read about this place in a brochure and had to try it. It did to disappoint as the shakes are extravagant, picture worthy, and delicious. HOWEVER, they run out of supplies daily, so do not wait until too late to go.
My family and I wanted a local place for dessert and decided to come here. While there are only 6 or so large shake options and an equal number of smaller ones, we were not disappointed. My family of 3 shared an Oreo Shake that just blew us away. It was very good and quite enough for us. Was it pricey? Yes. There is no parking in the area and had to pay for that as well, but it was worth the experience. My family and I were not disappointed.
