I have heard about Von’s chicken wings and how people rave about how crispy it is. I went to the location on Waialae Avenue. The first time I tried the regular crispy fried wings and goodness was it good and very crispy. You can get a full or ½ order – I got the ½ order, 10 wings for $13.99 It was so good that we went back in two days and got a half order of the crispy fried again and half order of crispy shoyu ($14.99). The wings are amazingly tasty and crunchy – highly recommend trying this to go fast food place especially good for picnics! We visited the location in Kapahulu

Pricey but Very Tasty My usual go to for Korean Fried Chicken is Bonchon, so after taking my first bite I was very happy. The chicken was honesty fried to perfection, the perfect amount of crunch in the breading complimented by very juicy chicken. In my opinion the second biggest selling pint of Vons (other than the quality of chicken) is the assortment of unique flavors. After finally narrowing down which place I wanted to eat at in Japan Village, my most difficult decision was deciding how brave I wanted to be with the flavor of my chicken. The offer 6 sauce flavors of wings: Plain, Korean BBQ Mild, Shoyu, Honey Butter, Korean BBQ Spicy, & Snow. I decide to go with a 6 piece in the BBQ Mild, and then try something new, so I got the Snow which is like a dry rub of a cheddar an onion powder. It sounded a little worrisome, but I actually ended up enjoying it more than the BBQ sauce personally. $11 for 6 wings is a bit steep, but if you need to satisfy your craving fro Korean Fried Chicken, Von's will definitely take care of you!

We eat here several times a year when we are at HNL. Very tasty. Nice to eat normal food prior to getting on a long flight. The chicken is very yummy. Great side choices. Mac salad is a must.

The Place is magical. Once you enter and go through the village you will be very impressed by what you see. There are shops and a variety of restaurants with very different food items that you don’t see anywhere else. I recommend you visit here while you are in Honolulu.

Ordered spicy boneless chicken, it is regular fried chicken and spicy sauce on the top. Disappointed, I thought they would at least mixed in the pan. Rice cake is a lie. It is not the juicy, they deep fried the rice cake and pull spicy sauce on the top - same as spicy chicken. It cost $6 for that, lol.

I was seriously underwhelmed by this chicken. I had been to the Vons chicken on Pensacola St. and just assumed it would be the same, it wasn't. It cost $11.51 for 6 wings. I chose Honey butter and when I got my wings it was covered in a powder that I don't remember from The Pensacola street location. Anyway it kinda tastes weird. The wait was about 20 min and after eating my wings ...I didn't want anymore but I was still hungry. The other flavors might be better but I would not recommend the Honey butter unless you like powdered wings.

Giving Vons a third chance. My last review was for the Waimanu location. In that review I gave them 1 star. Today at Ala Moana Shirokiya Japan Village Walk I was pleasantly greeted. Wanted to try the Korean spicy Bbq and the honey fried chicken. Was told the I couldn't mix the order. So I just got the Korean Spicy Bbq. I was given a beeper and was told in would be 15 minutes. My beeper vibrated 15 minutes later. The person at the counter thanked me for my purchase. I was anxious to try the Korean style chicken. The chicken was in a cute box. Made me more excited. Well to tell you the truth disappointment set in soon after. Of the six pieces in my order only two were crispy. The spicy bbq sauce was passable. I ordered them mild and it didn't have much heat. At least the service was excellent. Who knows I may give them one more try.

I asked for their best seller. Best made to order Shoyu Wings. I asked if they had any dipping sauces. My server said that there was none available. Luckily, it didn't need any additional sauces. Will be back to try other flavors.

Pretty good fried chicken! They also serve ice-cold beer for a decent price.
