Rich and umami sesame and miso broth that isn't too salty, perfectly balanced, with springy noodles and fresh greens (just as for no egg and the vegetarian ramen is instantly vegan), the perfect comforting bowl of ramen with the Daikon Salad on the side (just ask for no Bonito Flakes).. I don't know WHAT the previous reviewer was going on about calling the ramen bland, it was great and I'm glad I went (will be back for sure). The Diakon salad is super refreshing, service was phenomenal, don't overlook this hole-in-the-wall! It gets busy because it's so good!

Noodle texture has the perfect chew and the dipping broth is so rich. Very hearty and authentic ramen spot.

I ordered the Garlic Tsukemen at Wagaya and it was phenomenal. The noodles were perfectly chewy, the dipping broth was rich and garlicky with deep umami flavor, and the chunks of tender pork melted in my mouth. Loved the bamboo shoots and greens that added a fresh contrast. Every bite was comforting and packed with flavor. Highly recommend for any ramen lover!

Chicken karaage was delicious. Ramen was delicious, we got the kuro. Generous amount of veggies. Broth was not too thick, very seasoned. Eggs cooked perfectly. Dessert was yummy, the mochi added great texture. It can be packed during lunch time.

Amazing place with a nice and fresh tonkotsu broth. One of my favorite places to get ramen on island! I highly recommend ordering corn tempura for appetizers and wagaya ramen/tsukemen. Super delicious!

I got the Garlic tsukemen Ramen, Gyoza, and Chicken Karaage. Ramen was overpriced($19) and very small portion. Gyoza was good. Chicken karaage had something in it that made my stomach weezy. I thought it was me but on the last piece I immediately felt it hit my stomach…

After a full day of surfing and soaking up the sun at beautiful Waikiki Beach, I was totally wiped out and starving. The evening breeze started to roll in, and all I could think about was carbs, lots of them. I needed something hot, hearty, and comforting. That’s when I stumbled upon this spot, and man, it did not disappoint. I ordered the most popular black garlic soup noodle (with extra noodles, of course), and it was everything my tired, sun-soaked body needed. The broth was rich and flavorful, the noodles had the perfect bite, and the whole bowl just like the soul food, to provide everything you need at the moment. It hit the spot so hard, I swear I felt my energy bar refill in real time. This soul touched soup seriously turned my tired body into a perfect shape. Fueled up and ready, I even had the energy to hit the pub afterward.

Do yourself a favor and head to Wagaya for the best ramen in Honolulu! You’d never think this restaurant in a strip mall would be 10/10, but guess what, it is! Not only is the food excellent, the prices are affordable. An easy 20 minute walk from all the touristy areas. Next time we’re back in Honolulu we will certainly be going back.
