The food was ‍ !! It's an unassuming spot above a grilled cheese shop but everything was immaculate. The staff were attentive but not overbearing. The intimate atmosphere was a vibe. We will definitely be coming back again.

Wow this place was so good, we went as a group of 7 with a few kids under 12. We arrived around 6 on a Wednesday and no reservations were required. Our server was informative about all the different foods. We got about 7 plates to share: - Japanese purple sweet potato salad which was the group favorite. A little sweet and a mousse like texture it was delicious, wow! The hard boiled egg was flavored with soy sauce (maybe poached in it?) and had a gooey yellow inside. The salty roe was a great flavor next to the sweetness of the potato. -beef curry was hands down one of my favorite curries on the planet now. We ended up getting two - Yakisoba noodles were well cooked with mixed veggies - yummy! - grilled corn came out in little ribs and a great dipping sauce - assorted sashimi was light and fresh - hamachi carpaccio was fresh, bright, thinly sliced and seasoned very lightly. Even the bed of onions were light and flavorful without being overpowering. What did you get the thing last night? What did you eat? - steak was perfectly cooked and a good cut of beef -cucumber salad was fresh and crunchy and the seasoning on point. - Lychee soda was yummy! Everyone was so happy with this place. It was clean and a good atmosphere. I'd totally recommend this place for a family, for date night, for anyone.

Love this cute restaurant. Great romantic ambience with dim lighting. Customer service was great. Food was good. Overall, I felt like I stepped into a cute bar in Japan.

I am grateful that you accommodated me even though I had a reservation for a large number of people. And whatever I ate was delicious. Most Japanese people will be satisfied. I will come

The food was pretty good. However, I was eating, the server took my food away without saying anything. Service was poor.

Love the atmosphere! Amazing food. Had the handroll sushi which we had to roast the seaweed on charcoal and put the sushi ourselves. It was an amazing experience. The fish tasted fresh too.Anything grilled was amazing ! I will be back.

The beef tongue (gyutan) and ichigo steak were so delicious. All the meats are cooked on charcoal and are tender and smoky. We love the bar seating because we could see them cook in front of us.Staff is friendly and helpful. So glad I discovered this place.

Love this new Izakaya that just opened up. The food is fantastic. I've been here a few times and will keep coming back. It's certainly a nice local place not too busy with tourists. Atmosphere is calm and chill and the staff is so friendly. We had the jidori chicken, gyutan (beef tongue), ichibo steak, and the build your own hand roll. The flavors are wonderful and the food is authentic. Great selection of drinks.

I had a much better experience here than the Kaimuki location! The service was top notch. The server was constantly asking us what we needed whenever something was finished. She took the time to explain their specials, and kindly tolerated our indecisiveness. I can't remember the menu name, but the Hamachi with mountain yams, and sauce made us feel like we were back in Japan the umami flavor was amazing. We also enjoyed the sweet tofu, and Japanese traditional highball's. The ambience was perfect for a Japanese Izakaya, and they even played some Japanese music which was much more enjoyable, and appreciated for the Japanese experience. Before Covid this location was a Japanese restaurant it was closed for a long time. I'm very happy to see it open again as a Japanese restaurant they upgraded the decor to more modern feel with classy tables, dinner lamps, and new modern style paint. It reminds me of a modern izakaya feel in Japan, it is very nice. I like what they have done with the place. And I hope they are very popular for late night, and day time dinners. It's a very comfortable place to dine, and feel the Japanese culture. A Japanese breakfast set would be cool too that's very rare to find in Honolulu I only know of one restaurant that offers that. This isn't a critique at all just wishful thinking that I wanted to add.

Had to stop by one more time before my husband and I fly back home to SoCal tomorrow. This place gets better and better after every time! Excited to see how great this restaurant will be on our next visit to Oahu. Thanks for the great meal once again! Service continued to be phenomenal and ambience is perfect for a casual dinner or dress up for date night.

Soft opening. Izakaya menu. Pupu dishes. Cold and hot. Sashimi and charcoal grill dishes. So far so good.

Authentic Japanese food! It was great to be able to have it while vacationing in Hawaii. Brought back so many memories of living in Japan!

That garlic salmon roll was on point and amazing! All the food was yummy as usual. The Truffle Edamame was super ono! It was my boyfriend's first time there n he was blown away by everything! My 4 year old loved his California Roll and Chicken Karaage. The food came out at a good pace considering how busy it was. The dessert was yummy as usual. The only thing we didn't like was how expensive a lot of things were. I feel like the price we paid (over $300 with tip) was a bit much. Overall a nice experience for my boyfriend n 4 year old and much needed family QT time!
