We really enjoyed this luau during our stay at the Hilton. It’s a little touristy — which is to be expected — but it was still such a fun and memorable evening.
I loved that it was right on the resort property, so there was no need to worry about transportation or timing. The setting made it super convenient after a long day of exploring.
The evening started with flower bracelets for everyone and temporary tattoos, which was a cute and festive touch.
The performances were lively and entertaining, with a mix of storytelling, hula, and fire dancing that kept the energy high.
The food was solid and plentiful, with a good variety for everyone to enjoy, and the bar service was quick and friendly.
It may lean on the touristy side, but for the convenience, the atmosphere, and the overall experience, it was a great way to enjoy a luau while staying at the Hilton. I’d happily recommend it to anyone who wants a fun, stress-free luau night.

This Luau was one of the highlights of my trip. The only reason for 4 stars was the price. We did the Gold Circle and for the price I feel that should have been Diamond level viewing. I was also disappointed we did get a lei when entering. I didn’t see anyone with one but the pictures they show online show everyone wearing them. Overall, it was a good experience though.

I went here tonight with my wife and two year old twins. Walked in everything was going ok.. got sat down at the end of a table when there was plenty of other tables free with babies and kids around the same age, but quickly directed to this one. This table had half disabled people which I helped care for a few times by picking up dropped items and we all had a great time meeting each other, it was lovely. The other half was able-bodied like my family and myself. Everything was going lovely. Then the presenter states it’s time for food and each table will be directed to go one at a time, not a problem. My wife and I turn and are tending to our twins and turn back to see our entire table getting up and lining up for food(our table was closest to the buffet so we could only assume yeah that kind of makes sense). My wife and I grab our twins and get in the back of our tables line. This is when it gets bad. A man storms over to us in front of everyone and shouts at us and our kids, “everyone here was able to get up and get food because they are disabled. You aren’t able to get food yet! Return to your seats or go to the children’s buffet and get the kids food but you can’t eat here yet! “Ah Sorry, our mistake”. We go to the kids buffet and get the twins food and sit down. This man then goes on and lets every. Single. Table and Person at the venue get up and get food. Then at long last he finally makes his way to just us.. the rest of our table both able-bodied and disabled had finished eating. Our kids had also finished eating. He states “oh you are free to eat now”, he then turns and looks at the line and states, “oh but the line is large at the moment it might be best to wait”. Then he walks off.
Paid all that money to be singled out as a young family of 4 and targeted for reasons unknown to us. Even people on our table stopped and asked this man by watching what happened, “um excuse me when can that couple on our table eat”, his response was “oh they can now it’s just that the line is to large and they are waiting”… just don’t go to this and trust me, the views awful, the foods cold but ok. And the performances were pretty good. But there is much better. We will not return. Oh and we live on the Island and were doing research for our visitors on where to take them. Not the Hilton Luau!! Learn from our mistake. Even the dancers at the end commented on how cute our twins were dancing and getting involved. Sorry. They won’t be seen again here with extended family and visitors. Horrible experience.

We had an amazingly fun time. There is no need to get the diamond ticket. Just get the regular one.

We were moved to the rooftop for the luau. It was an incredible, welcoming celebration. Music and entertainment are a must see. We got there a half an hour early to wait in line to get better seats it is first come first serve seating.

What a perfect night for the show! The food was delicious and plenty of it. They accommodated one person in our party who had severe allergies. Our waiter, Peter, was attentive and pleasant. If you have never been to a luau, I suggest that you try this one. You won't be sorry!

We had a wonderful time at the Waikiki Starlight Luau, and our appreciation goes out to the incredible team that made it happen—the table staff, bar staff, MC, photographers, sound techs, chefs, dancers, and even the wood carvers in the back. Their everyday efforts and dedication truly elevated the experience; without them, it might have felt less than stellar.
That said, a word of caution for potential attendees, especially if you’re staying at a Hilton property: beware of the predatory business practices from Hilton Grand Vacations. They approached us through the hotel concierge, pretending to offer a “deep discount” by first quoting these tickets at over $600 for just three people, then claiming to slash it to half price if you attend their “2-hour, no-pressure presentation.” It’s an incredibly laughable tactic that’s clearly designed to pull you into a timeshare pitch—where they throw every heavy pressure tactic in the book. I went to experience it and was quite annoyed with the pitch and their continuous lies. While my heart goes out to the frontline workers who deserve all the support, this scheme has left a sour taste in my mouth regarding the Hilton name overall. If they try this with you, I’d recommend seeking out another luau instead to avoid the hassle.

The Luau show was good but we got the show only tickets so we were pretty far from the stage. The instructions they provide in the email to find the place is old and not updated so it confused us and took a while to find the area. The staff was rushing us to get the drinks that came with the tickets as soon as we sat down. Just ok experience overall.

The food is standard buffet food. Nothing special, if not below par. Bland tough etc. Dessert same. I left a $150.00 dinner hungry. The show was short, and I guess okey, but the only thing I saw was the back of the person's head next to me. The stage is ground level. The Hilton should at least raise it a foot or two. And fireworks. No special view seats, just push out to stand at the beach.

The shows only seat is a scam. $100+ per adults. You can literally stand around the lawn and watch the show for free, or if you stay in the Lagoon Tower. There was no seating assignment, so it's first come, first serve, amd no body follow the line. Theu just start rushing in, and the confusion and trying to seat a family of 5 is ridiculous. It also said no outside food or drinks, but there were a couple of families who brought in food, including pizzas, and the staff didn't say anything. I literally wasted $500+. The luau itself is pretty good, but the one I watched at the Big Island was better and cheaper. On top of that, you can barely see the firework from the seating. The staff will advise you to exit the Luau and go to the beach for better viewing. There is absolutely no point of paying for the luau! SUPER DISPPOINTED! HILTON can definitely do better!
$300 for the Friday night luau, unbelievable joke !!! They market it as though you can view the fireworks from the luau but instead they make you leave the venue to walk out to view them from the public beach?!! The show was incredibly short, they only offer 2 cultural activities (flower leis and tattoos), overall the worst luau I’ve ever been to. I will never go again and will never recommend it to anyone !! Go to Paradise Cove, Sealife Park, literally anywhere but here, so so disappointed.
