The shaved ice was great. I was concerned that a tourist couple ahead of me was having difficulty making decisions about size and flavors. The sole worker at the time handled it well, and then took and completed our orders efficiently. I had the Waiola combination with condensed milk, my friend had the Obama combination with condensed milk. We liked the taste of the flavors, as well as the finely shaved ice. I really appreciated that there was designated parking and an ample shaded eating area. We were able to chat with other customers without having to sit too close. Made for a nice, laid back early afternoon.

Pretty tasty shave ice with ice cream. The passion fruit and mango were both well made. I liked the ice cream at the bottom. I do wish they’d let you have three flavors.

Our friends from Oahu said that Waiola is their favorite shave ice in all Hawaii and after one bite we totally understood. We spent a warm afternoon at Queen's beach and shave ice was the perfect treat. I don't know how they do it, but the ice is more like snow. It's so soft and fluffy. I ordered the red bean bowl with condensed milk and mochi. The kids and my wife got fruity combos with ice cream. And we all LOVED our shave ice. The staff were patient in explaining and giving recommendations. We also picked up some limu covered sour patch kids in the little store. If you're in Honolulu you MUST go to Waiola shave ice!!!!

Good service, edible shave ice. If you're in need, this place will suffice.This used to be my favorite spot years ago - it has degraded a lot since then. Small ice cream scoops and little syrup that quickly tastes watery. You might as well purchase shave ice at any vendor in Waikiki- at least they'll pour enough syrup to ensure you get the flavor you want - and the ones with Ice Cream give a decently sized scoop for the amount you're paying.

Tried out the second location and it was just as good! The location is actually nicer. Fewer parking spaces though. Tried the POG (passion orange guava) and mango this time and my wife got lychee and sour apple. The POG was basically just guava and the lychee was watery. Mango and strawberry and probably still the best flavors I've tried. Of course gotta get it with vanilla ice cream. Takes it to the next level with the very smooth shave ice. $4 for a small, +$1 for ice cream. Would probably come to this location in the future since it's a little closer to Waikiki and in a nicer spot of town.

I was so disappointed. I love shave ice and had read good reviews about Waiola Shave Ice. Maybe it was one of their other locations. I'm being generous by giving them a rating of three out of five. First of all, the service was horrendous. She couldn't have been ruder. The ice was soft and fluffy which saved them from getting a worse rating. The flavor was tasteless, just like colored water. I was very much looking forward to this shave ice, but unfortunately my experience at Waiola Shave Ice was not a positive one.
