1000000/10 experience!! Such a hidden gem. My husband and I love sushi so much. We were here during the Kona low storm and just happened to stumble upon Wasabi Bistro for open reservations. We have tried the most high end sushi places all over and this was some of the best sushi we have ever had. The hamachi crudo was absolutely amazing we had to order several orders of it. The sushi was so fresh, the service was amazing, we could eat here every night! Thank you all for a delicious dinner! 🍣

My last night in Waikiki for a week-long conference, I google good local places to eat. A short walk through the rain to Wasabi Bistro where I was greeted pleasantly and seated at the sushi bar with no reservation. Chef Ono, at my request, helpfully recommended the crispy rice and tuna appetizer. A delicious start with the Sapporo, graciously poured by the greeter. We moved on to the baked scallop and mushroom dish with Fire Dragon sake, a flavorful and interesting pairing. Altogether a pleasant experience with creative and tasty food, attentive and friendly service, and a nice atmosphere. I recommend it and will return on future visits to Honolulu.

The location of this restaurant is super cute. It's located within a smaller, older hotel. Feels very hole in the wall, and cozy.
We walked in for an early-ish dinner and got a table right away. It was busy but nothing crazy - we got a great table and were served quickly. We had our 2 young kids with us, and they were great at accommodating them and making suggestions from the menu they may like. The menu is somewhat limited - quality over quantity. I got a sushi and roll combination - delicious and fresh! We started with the tofu salad - spicy and fresh. Our kids got the gyoza, edamame, and several kappa maki rolls. Service was quick and sweet! We will definitely come back next time we're in town.

How can I give more than five stars? Fresh dishes paired with genuinely attentive service in a relaxed, jazz-filled setting. We ordered several à la carte and were impressed by both the quality and the surprisingly reasonable prices especially by Waikiki standards. Mocha cheesecake as dessert was a fantastic choice. Also I really appreciate their easygoing process to make a reservation when all the omakase places in this region seem to ask for your entire credit card information.

We had an amazing dinner here. It's tucked away in a courtyard, which adds to the experience. Very intimate setting with great, knowledgeable staff. The food was incredible! I'm not a huge papaya eater, but I'll be dreaming of my next papaya boat! Delicious!
