We decided to give XO in Kaimuki a try, and it definitely didn't disappoint. It was Restaurant Week here in Hawaii and they offered a 6 course family style tasting menu @ $50/person and the chef and owner Kenneth Lee welcomed us and went over the menu items with us. This place has potential but I wouldn’t seek it out again. The menu needs more options - everything is fried - fried crab, fried chicken, fried oysters. The dishes that aren’t fried are still heavy and fatty - like foie gras on rice, loaded potatoes, pork belly. The veggies we ordered still had loads of oil. I’m not against ordering a few heavy dishes but there needs to be more light options on the menu to balance it out and make a complete meal. That being said, individually...
