This was recommended to me as a “don't miss” before coming to Waikiki, so I had high expectations — and they were met. Hachibei is located a beautiful space, with an open kitchen and Yakitori grill. The ingredients shine here. I've not had yakitori this good since I was in Tokyo (the pork belly is so delicious, I lost count of how many we ordered). Lovely staff. This is a special place.
We randomly stumbled across this place and a great time. We had the 9 course happy hour menu and everything on the menu was amazing. Order an additional side of the corn- it was amazing!! Fun atmosphere, awesome staff, and great food.
We loved the quiet intimate atmosphere, perfect for our date night. We were greeted by a wonderful and enthusiastic host/waiter. He shared menu information. We ordered the Omakase. Everything was delicious!!! Our top choices were the Washuyu Tataki, Ahi poke, Butabara, Wagyu, Sukiyaki, and Sumiyaki Oyako Don. We were stuffed at the end but we really enjoyed each dish. We definitely recommend eating here!
