Went to Chinatown today to buy ingredients for a chow mein platter for a party. I have purchased chow mein from this shop for a long time (decades) but the last 4-5 times, the attractive lady who takes and bags your order has been giving me all their old stuff, and odds and ends bits they swipe off the counter. I came in about 11 am hoping not to get yesterdays dried out leftovers and there was no one else there. I ordered 4 lbs regular chow mein. Since I had gotten the old dried out stuff and random bits before I really watched her. She took a white plastic bag off the shelf, weighed it and then added more noodles from the plastic bin near the weigh scale. Well, when I got home and began cooking, i found out that she had given me old dried out noodles and bits AGAIN. Although their prices are reasonable, its too high if the noodles are basically inedible. At least 1.25 lbs of my 4 pound order was crap! I was ripped off again! So although I am not for ripping a business, this attractive, middle aged woman in Yat Tung has justified my first bad review. I will not shop here again. For the record, I am 7/8 chinese , dressed averagely well, and in my 60's, although I do not speak Cantonese.

This is our to go for noodles for home soups and won tun pi for our soup dumplings. Yes, the prices have gone up, but so has everything else in the world, still reasonable, and the quality is unmatched. While many of commented on the gruff nature of the service, I find her to be very helpful, quick, and effective. You will never waste your time while in there, which is a plus as typically the car is running while someone is waiting for me so I didn't have to park.

Great selection of the size noodles you are looking to make. But always tasty and be careful where you walk because it's a small place you might pass it if you're not paying attention.

Their prices went up but when I'm in Chinatown it's my go to if I wanna make fried noodles, pork hash, gau gee, ramen, or won tons. They have like 15 diff kinds of wrappers and noodles. The lady inside almost always ignores everybody when you first walk in but if you wait patiently she will come talk to you. Best to know exactly what you want before coming in. If you act irritated she will do the same lol but that's the way it is in Chinatown so it doesn't bother me. My only concern is how dirty the place is and how it smells like cockroaches inside the place but I've never found anything gross in my noodles or my wrappers so until that happens I'll continue to give them my $$ ‍

TERRIBLE!!! The lady in the front counter selling noodles has such bad attitude and TERRIBLE service. She had no personality and impatient. Our family will never recommend this place to anyone and will never come back to support this place. We always want to support long time local businesses here in Hawaii. If this shop want return customers to support them long term and if they want recommendations to other people. They need to change the way they speaking with people and their customers. WARNING Do Not Come To This Shop.

Awful!! Prices went up over $1.00, quantities went down. Gau gee pi (frying) 28 pieces for $3.20! I counted the pieces....only had 25 pieces in the package. Inconsistent and the pi dough was inconsistent too....some were thick and rubbery others were thin! Terrible!! Never going back there again!! Went to Youngs noodle factory a few weeks later .......35 gau gee pieces for $2.10!!! Only problem is they close at 12noon every day!

Consistently excellent noodles and wrappers for a good price. They sell out of wrappers fairly quickly. No cooked good, they only sell fresh noodles and wrappers to take home and cook.

Went Yat Tung this past sunday, again the lady at the register was rude and impatient. This was my 3rd time going there and my last!!! Gonna try Oahu Noodle Factory this weekend!

Freshly made noodles and wrappers - there were probably over 10 types of noodles and 5+ types of wrappers. The wonton noodles were chewy and bouncy. We bought extra to take home - popped them in the fridge then brought them in our luggage!

Don't come here if you don't have to. The lady at the register is impatient and rude. You almost have to beg for their service.

If you're shopping in Chinatown and will be cooking noodles and/or dumplings, you've got to stop by Yat Tung Chow Noodle Factory (YTCNF). You will be amazed of what you can pick up here at such low prices. Located on Mauka side of N King Street, just near the crosswalk by Kekaulike St., YTCNF carries quite a few types of fresh noodles made in house: 1) thick saimin 2) thick egg noodle 3) golden thread egg noodle 4) regular saimin 5) thick chow mein noodle 6) thin chow mein noodle 7) flat egg noodle 8) elastic noodle 9) thick noodle Udon 10) white saimin Not sure which one you're looking for? Look at their counter top for a visual display of these different noodle types. Making dumplings? They've got 9 types of wrappers you can select from: 1) gau gee / mandoo (round) 2) gau gee for frying (square) 3) potsticker (gyoza) 4) won ton (local style) - soup 5) won ton (Hong Kong style) - soup 6) won ton (extra thin and small) - soup 7) won ton (frying) 8) siu mai / pork hash (Hong Kong style) 9) siu mai / pork hash (Hong Kong style - round) With convenience and great pricing, YTCNF has good foot traffic but the bulk of their business is wholesale. They are open from 6am so you can stop by early in Chinatown but keep in mind they are closed on Tuesdays. Their inventory is made daily so purchasing your noodles and wrappers here would yield a fresher product than what you can get at your local supermarkets AND at a fraction of the price. Although I speak Cantonese, in my shopping experiences speaking English may be the way to go. I've been here a handful of times where the female staff is quite bold and sassy when conversing in Cantonese. Typical Chinatown parking pains but keep in mind there are a handful of convenient municipal parking lots within walking distance. Most important, CASH ONLY here.

Bought 10 pounds of noodles as always. Boiled one roll which tasted funny, either from rotten old flour or chemicals. The unpleasant foreign taste was rather detectable and alarming. Thought it might be that roll. Tried another one the following day and tasted the same funny. Called the shop and was encountered with resistance, excuses, and even blames and accusations towards me (a customer) out of desperation of getting themselves out of any responsibilities. I am ashamed of being a Chinese for having fellows like this. The word "loyal customer" means nothing to them. Dumped all the noodles in the trash. Will never buy their noodle again.
