This place is usually really good. After the pandemic, not so much. I usually don't complain cause I've worked in fast food before but tonight's the last straw. They tried to give me pre-cooked Korean style fried chicken, citing that they had a rush so they made a lot of back up chicken. Usually, I'd be ok with this. The problem is that the last 3 times I ordered, it was pre-cooked and one of those times the rice I got was so hard it felt like the bottom of the rice pot. The hard rice might've been a one off, but consistently giving near cold Korean style fried chicken? Hell no. Busy or slow, I got cold Korean style fried chicken. Either the cooks incompetent/lazy or policy's changed on giving out hot entrees. The saving grace is their customer service and the atmosphere. Cashiers are always friendly, and the diner is always clean. I love this place, but for your kitchen needs to work on its quality control.

A local favorite, but there are very few really good things on the menu. The wait staff was really “dense”, unfriendly, and didn’t care about anyone’s order. We dined in. Everyone seemed happy with their food, but they must be used to -so-so meals.

Great prices and good food! They have regular plates and mini plates. Good Mac salad and a good loco moco too. I came to this spot multiple times on my vacation to save some money but still try something different

Always a must stop spot for a quick delicious 😋 meal when in Hawai’i. I gave the Korean Fried Chicken Platter a try and I must say I’d order it again and again. Unbelievably delicious for a fast casual spot. The service was pretty quick and smooth. Their Mac salad is also delicious and the Korean chicken is perfectly crispy with the right amount of sauce.

Zippy’s – 2 stars I’ll admit—I was being generous with this rating because I knew going in that my palate might not be quite ready for some of Hawaii’s local staples. Spam just isn’t something I’ve had much of or really craved!
Walking in, the vibe felt nostalgic—like a classic neighborhood dine-in spot. I ended up chatting with a fellow visitor from the mainland, and he swore by the spaghetti (which almost tempted me!). But I stuck with the TikTok favorite: the Zip Pac. It’s a loaded combo of Hawaiian staples—fried Spam, fish, teriyaki beef, and a piece of fried chicken, all served over white rice.
Visually, the plate was packed and definitely filling. But for me, it was a texture and taste thing—it just didn’t hit. I couldn’t finish it, but I’m still glad I gave it a try.
Service was pleasant, the space was decently clean, and there was plenty of parking. I saw a lot of locals enjoying themselves, which made it clear this is a go-to comfort spot for many. Someone told me Zippy’s is like Hawaii’s Chick-fil-A, and I can respect that. It just wasn’t my flavor lane.
If you’re visiting the island, I’d still say give it a try for the cultural experience. But for me, it was a one-and-done.

we stopped by Zippy‘s to try it out. I ended up ordering the oxtail soup which was pretty delicious. Lots of oxtail was included in my soup and we also tried the trio Korean fried chicken platter

My wife and I ordered late night because we had fallen asleep earlier in the day. Zippy's was nearby. I ordered the fried chicken meal, and my wife ordered something else. One of our meals was missing the fries, so my wife ordered some from McDonald's, which was located directly across the street from our resort. We were NOT satisfied with any of our food selections. Neither of us ate our food from there. We'll have to try something else on the menu during our next visit. The order was done online and delivered to our room.
