Big Fish Dive Club
This was a real gem on the windward side of the island. The best word to describe this place is “quaint” as it is located right across Swanzy Beach Park. It feels like old days again while sitting at its outdoor tables (on indoor seating), you can watch the cars go by and as well as the ocean. The menu was limited, but the two dishes we tried were very tasty. I had the chile bento, which was Mexican chile with ground beef and tri-tip bits over white rice, not arroz. A creation of Mexican & Asian. The rice itself was definitely good as we were told that the chef prepared the rice differently. We also tried the chicken tonkatsu It was tender and flavorful. The old couple who runs the place just by themselves so it does take a bit of time to get your food. The owner told us to order on line the next time as it normally takes an hour if you just walked up to the window. Today it was raining so we got lucky as very few people on this side of the island. Highly recommended if you just want something light or a bento to enjoy on the beach across the street. This place is definitely better than the “famous” food trucks of North Shore.

Stopped by randomly for lunch on a Rainy day while driving around the around island and this place does not disappoint. The owners are a couple been here for 20 years and they make everything fresh. I had their hamburger which has a unique frangrant which the owner told me that he got this recipe from a Japanese chief who studied in France. Their papaya smoothie was freshly made with Greek yogurt as well.

If you like small charming family owned place, with just a few outdoor tables, it’s for you. We arrived at 2:30 and they close at 3, but still the owners were extremely friendly. The food was visibly freshly prepared and delicious, the owner and also cooker is a friendly Japanese madam. I highly recommend the place, it was a nice experience. The pulled pork quesadilla, panned chicken and teriyaki beef were very good!

Delicious. Absolutely delicious. Don't let the closed doors, closed windows, limited seating and online ordering only deter you. You won't regret it. I wish it was closer to where I'm staying, I'd definitely go back. We had chicken catsu, pork quesadilla and Mac and cheese balls.

Had the Ahi Katsu bowl and it was fresh and delicious. Husband and wife were friendly and provided outstanding service. Definitely a hidden gem in Kaawa. A must stop when passing through.

Excellent Ahi Tuna and Teriyaki Beef. The side of Ahi sauce was on point! Great, friendly service. Online order only (QR code) outside restaurant and limited outdoor seating only. If eating outside, food served on actual glass plates/bowls. My child with egg/peanut allergies was able to eat the teriyaki beef bowl, no problem. The owner did tell me they use peanut oil for the fried items, which we avoided for my child.
