Marvelous meal and even though not many servers..they showed excellent care to our table and served us in a timely manner. Great student attitude and trained well be Mark Malone. Thanks
Excellent menu to choose from. Wonderful presentation of courses supported by delicious food!
Tremendous meal served by the talented Maui college culinary class students with Mark Malone as Master instructor of the precision cooking and serving classes Dining guests at Class Act rightly so rave about the total dining experience from start to finish. The food is impeccably monitored for the savory combinations of ingredients and leave your taste buds totally in awe of the flavors and creativity in every course. Securing a reservation is a challenge so be on the lookout for each semesters offerings and be delighted with the opportunity to attend one or several themed based culinary experiences. You will not be disappointed. It's the best of Maui restaurants.
We all enjoyed the Asian theme food. The main thing we like is the complexity of the food. The scallops were in a nice sauce and sliced to perfection. the Kanpachi was a tad overcooked but tasted nice in a nice sauce. The ice cream cake was very good as well. Our server was very nice and thoughtful. We really enjoyed the overall experience.
Excellent food and ambience. Service was excellent with very little wait time between courses
Unique and wonderful 5 course meal. A server who recognized us from a previous visit to Leis Class Act gave us a hug. This is so Maui Ohana.
Well organized event. Shows the commitment the students have in choosing a career in the Hospitality Industry
Excellent service. Took too long to get entrees. Steak was very good and cooked just right. My pasta dish was a fail. Under cooked pasta and beans. Should have been served in a bowl with the broth, not on a plate with a fork.
The living classroom was a bit challenged-back of house. Long delays between courses. Fortunately we were not in a hurry. The students were well informed and very attentive.
Had a wonderful lunch. Our server was very conscientious and professional. We had a lovely Italian lunch. It was such a sweet early valentines lunch.

Fabulous lunch - we go every year and this year's theme was Asian. All courses were creative and delicious. Loved the Kona Kanpachi and sauce as well as the Galbi Jjim. Wonderful dessert and staff of students were knowledgeable and friendly. Our server Emma was nice and Peyton gave us so much information on the dishes - and had a great smile! Great to catch up with Mark again too and Head Chef Peter Pak came by to be sure all was o.k. for us - how could it not be??!! Wish we could be there next week for the Italian theme but we'll be back next year. Sorry entree photos I took wouldn't upload to Open Table.
Standout performance by the culinary whiz-kids at UH-Maui. We had the French meunu which started out just so-so, Both the amuse bouch (a custard with a crisped prosciutto in an egg shell) and the fish quenelles were far too rich for our taste. However, the entrees (scrumptious lamb chops and surprising salmon} were real standouts. The caramel mouse was a perfect ending. The service was very attentive, friendly and very efficient. Only let-down was the overly slow production times which could be helped by slowing the starter courses.
The overall experience is fabulous. Mark and Peter are amazing ambassadors for the Class Act. Peter has increased the food quality and flavours to a new and higher level. Well done. Mark is so accommodating to everyone as a “one man team” during a challenging time after COVID.
This is the best restaurant on Maui - hands down! Although there's no shortage of good restaurants on the island, Lei's Family Class Act Restaurant takes the cake. This place rocks for so many reasons. First, THE FOOD... OMG! The menu's are carefully planned and executed. The journey of international flavors are an adventure in and of themselves. Each course is not only beautifully presented, they exceed your mouth's expectations. This past week we had the Asian-influenced menu. The way Chef Pak and students developed their flavors and creativity is amazing. The Kampachi melted in your mouth, as did the braised short rib. The accompanying sauces and sides paired perfectly with each course... From the amuse bouche thru to dessert, you'll see why this place gets such rave reviews. The Service. It's awesome! Friendly and efficient. The service staff is lead by instructor Mark Malone. His passion for hospitality is contagious and his team are very professional and attentive as the culinary journey unfolds. The front of the house staff ensured that our dining experience was going to be memorable. The Cause. This is a living learning lab. Through hands-on, real world experiences, students are learning all facets of the food, beverage, and hospitality industry from the best of the best. The Cost. You would expect to pay three-times as much as you would if you went to a similar restaurant. And as an added benefit, there is a nominal corkage fee, so you can bring your favorite wines to enjoy with your meal. Lei's Family Class Act is an absolute gem! If you can find an open reservation, book it! And make sure you take some time off from work to really enjoy the entire experience. Bon appetite!
It's wonderful to have Class Act open to the public again. Our experience was hands down the best. The Asian Inspired menu was full of robust flavors and each dish built upon the other in the most complimentary way. To make it even better our service was impeccable. We were greeted right away by our host...and when we were seated, we we had non stop service reminiscent of a 5-star restaurant throughout the meal. If you are able to get a reservation I would highly recommend paying a visit. You won't be disappointed at all.
