Black Rock Pizzza - Kona

I'm a food allergy mama, both my son and I have nut allergies and eating out can be a little daunting. This place was recommended to me in a food allergy group and it did not disappoint! We ate it 4x because my son LOVED it as did our NY friends who are self proclaimed pizza snobs. The red basil sauce is so flavorful! It tasted so fresh and was delicious paired with the epic breadsticks.

When we called to ask about the nut allergies, we found out there are no nuts onsite and the pesto does not contain pine nuts. Not much else to say other than the food is delicious and will be one of the happy memories of our trip to the island.

Excellent pizza

As someone who lives in serious pizza territory, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and taste of the pizza here. The crust is really good. The sauce--my mouth waters at the mere thought of it. And having tried both their real cheese and dairy-free cheese options, I can truly say I wish we had this pizza back home in Chicagoland. The dairy-free would be my go-to on perhaps a weekly basis! Delicious! 😋🤌❤️

Great little pizza spot. One person in my group said the cauliflower pizza was the best GF pie she’s ever had.

The pizza here is what I call “Midwest” style pizza. Think Pizza Hut, but way better. The crust was particularly good and the toppings were flavorful. The BBQ pizza stood out as way better than average and the crust was awesome.

My only pizza gripe is some pies had very few toppings. Like, the pineapple pizza had maybe one or two pieces of pineapple per slice. Also, I thought the pizzas had too much cheese on them, but that’s just a personal preference.

You can bring your own beer/wine, but they don’t serve any. Outdoor seating can be tight, but you are very close to the water and can even see it depending on your seat. Difficult place for groups of 5+, consider take-out if you have a big group.

All in all I would come back. This is a solid pizza place with tasty food and good vibes.

Excellent food and awesome service. They were all so friendly. One of the cooks even came out and talked to us randomly about the food and how we’re liked it. Its the best food we have had on the island so far, Would definitely recommend.

Excellent pizza… sauce was great, lots of cheese and the crust super tasty and crispy! Ordered a double pepperoni and did not disappoint. Service was good. Would definitely recommend and go again.

So delicious, we shared a large green salad and a medium Classic Combo. The sauce is so good, and their artisan crust is the best I've had.

Ordered a BBQ chicken pizza and a salad. Salad was good but the pizza was great! Really tasty and we loved the BBQ sauce. My wife said it was the best pizza she ever had!

Excellent pizza and Haley is the gold standard for servers. Went twice during our last visit.

Get the barbecue chicken pizza, just do it

Stayed open later than the website showed because there were still customers. That's rare in this world, right?! Had takeout, so didn't really assess the ambiance, but it seemed nice, maybe a step above expected for a pizza joint. Did was excellent, even the next day, and definitely don't forget the canoli.

The food was wonderful! Many distinctive tastes blended to satisfy the palette. Great views from the seating with good comfortable room at all tables.
