This place was awesome. Food and service were on point, server was very helpful with the menu and drinks. Underrated little spot here. Check it out if you get a chance. Had charcuterie, fish slider potatoes, and lettuce wraps and two drinks and it was all very tasty. Biggest highlight for me was the dressing tossed with the lettuce wraps.
The outside is unassuming but the inside is a comfortable lounge. The drinks were made well and the food was excellent. I loved the poutine.
Such a great vibe here! Their apps are amazing and the drinks are delish!! It was the icing on the cake during our trip here to Kona
Food was amazing!!! Many little plates, big enough to share, very varied with something for everyone. This chef knows his stuff! We started off with the Billionaire Bacon. Juicy, salty and sweet. So good that all i could say was mmmmm. The Sexy Steak was melt in your mouth with a to-die-for demi. I dont know what made those Yukon Golds so good but i couldnt stop popping them in my mouth. Lots of variety with the drink menu, again, something for everyone. Cant wait to come back to try the dishes we missed!
Cool little place, Comfy seating. Great for relaxing with friends for drinks and pupus. Really 'ono. Cool cocktails. Got to attend a cool sip and paint there in collaboration with Pilikana Boutique. So fun
Great tapas and service fancy cocktails and atmosphere makes me feel like I’m in mainland. Staff and owners are warm welcoming everyone so glad finally Kailua Kona has tapas bar like this ! You can dress up .
SERIOUSLY, best food in Kona town. This is WAY better than what you get on Ali'i drive and it looks good too! The food is leaps and bounds above anything you can get in town. If you think it looks a little expensive go ahead and go cheaper somewhere else and then go here. Tell me it's not worth it ten times over to just go here in the first place.
Hidden Gem!!! Great food and very happy staff. Made our vacation. Thank you
I love cheers! This place has so much character and amazing atmosphere. The staff treat you like family and customize your service to make you feel special. There’s nothing like it in Hawaii! A one of a kind place with one of a kind people. Special shout out to AP, Maddie, and Nana for their amazing service, great drinks, and even better food!
I had a completely different experience at Cheers Tapas bar than the last reviewer. I didn’t expect it to be Spanish themed. I like the name. It’s better than Cheers Pupu Plates! In my opinion, tapas means small plates of savory food that you eat with your drinks. For two of us women, the portions were perfect as we were able to sample different dishes. We had the lamb, sexy steak , tempura mushrooms, parmesan truffle potatoes and loco moco slider cooked to perfection. Everything is delicious! Is it pricier, yes but we wanted to have sophisticated prepared food and we were not disappointed in the quality or presentation. I like the ambiance of a speak easy and the staff is very good. Maddy, I hope I got her name correct, was the perfect waitress who gave us recommendations when we asked and checked on us frequently. If you like small bites of great food, come here. If you need large portions, best you go elsewhere. I would come back in a heart beat!

On approach, the place looks closed. The name Tapas, is small Spanish savory dishes, this place doesn’t even have a sniff of Spanish about it! Having had a villa in Spain and having travelled quite extensively throughout Spain - there is nothing Spanish about this place. So don’t be fooled by the name. On entering it is dark, trying to imitate a gentleman’s club but not cutting it. Staff are friendly. It serves American food, chicken buffalo wings $5, nachos with chilli $5, hot dogs $5! The food is average for American junk food. The beers are $5 which is a good price. The cocktails are $15 not a great price especially for the size. It’s a bazaar place.
Jazz bar-like atmosphere. Very friendly service, great quality food.
Really cool place. Great food and great drinks. It does look like it’s closed from the outside but just give the door a try and you are warped into a speakeasy like atmosphere.
Original theme and great, small meals. Reminds me of Santa Cruz night life when I come here.
My friends and I loved it here! A bit on the pricey side, but the quality of the food and drinks were worth it. We had the sexy steak, mushroom scallops, Yukon potatoes, deep fried mushrooms with cold ginger topping, and milk and cookies. Everything was delicious! Our server was amazing. Attentive but not overbearing, and great personality.
