Love the place and eat there often. Each in the last few visits the music has been very loud. I haven't asked to turn it down as I didn't want to be one of those customers. Hopefully they can in future

Foster's Kitchen is truly a culinary gem here in Hawaii. From the moment you step in, you are greeted with a warm and inviting ambiance that sets the stage for a memorable dining experience. Now, let's talk about their calamari - it's like a taste of the ocean brought straight to your table. The calamari rings are delicately seasoned and perfectly cooked, offering a delightful crunch with each bite while still maintaining that lovely tenderness. But that's just the start of what Foster's Kitchen has to offer. Their menu is a masterpiece of flavors, featuring a fusion of local Hawaiian ingredients and contemporary culinary techniques that will have your taste buds singing. Whether you're a seafood enthusiast, a carnivore craving a juicy steak, or a vegetarian in search of creative and delicious options, Foster's Kitchen has something for everyone. So, if you find yourself in Hawaii craving a dining experience that combines impeccable service, a beautiful setting, and, of course, unforgettable food, make sure to stop by Foster's Kitchen. It's a dining destination that will not only satisfy your appetite but also leave you with cherished memories of your time in this tropical paradise.

We came to dine at this place because of all the decent reviews they had online. My wife has celiac, so she cannot have any gluten of any sorts. Our server assured us that the meal she was ordering will be gluten free. When the food came out we tested it , and it came back positive. After letting her know that, she took the food back and the manager came and told us how her staff were new and were being careless. Long story short. The same food was remade twice and still tested positive for gluten unfortunately. She eventually ordered their $45 steak that was recommended by the manager. Unfortunately it also came positive for gluten. Not only the restaurant was unable to accommodate for gluten free, the service was absolutely horrible. We had to asked for refills, and even though it took us almost 2 hours to get our food, the restaurant didn’t comp any of our meals. Though I was able to get something to eat, my wife had to leave without having anything to eat. We definitely do not recommend this place for gluten free and they do not have the best service. I wish I could have given half a star or none to be honest.

I was fortunate to sit near the owner on a flight from mainland. This person is very dedicated, so creative and explores all the possibilities. Excellent outdoor location, incredible menu, affordable and elegant. With much Aloha.

Foster's is a wonderful place to dine. I went there for lunch today. I had a side salad with gorgonzola dressing, and the Cajun shrimp pasta, and everything was wonderful. Nicole was our server and could not have been better. This is our favorite restaurant in Kona, and we will back.

Nice restaurant with a great view of the sunset. There was a large selection of food so you’re sure to find something you like and the food was very good, I would have liked a bit of a larger portion size but the taste mostly made up for this.

SALT SALT and more SALT!!!!!!!!Just had dinner there on april 3, 2024. Had an appetizer that had pesto and it was so overly salted that you couldn't taste what peso supposed to taste like. The crackers were overly salty that came with the pimento cheese. The cajun black and shrimp was overly salted and burned your palate. I ordered essentially the BLT and the candied bacon had no candied effect and it was just excessively salty bacon and the chicken in that sandwich was overly salted. My wife ordered a Mai Tai and it wasn't sweet. I researched the other reviews and more complaints about excessively salty food and our bill was over a hundred dollars.I've eaten in many states and many restaurants. And I have to say I've never had my mouth burn from salt and that is such a rookie move and either you have a chef who doesn't care or you got a rookie who hasn't been trained. But if you're using an old-fashioned salt shaker to season your meat, then I recommend you do it the smart way and use your fingers an about an hour of viewing on the food network and you'll see how to properly season meat with salt. I would not eat there again but I will say that the service was fine. But whomever in the kitchen believes that more salt is better isn't tasting their own food. And I read the reviews and whoever responds to them says they appreciate the feedback. But I don't think you're really doing anything because it is unconscionable to have bacon or chicken or pesto that is so pervasive with salt that you can't taste anything else. I mean, it's like it was deliberately done just to sabotage your food. I mean it's we're talking like a ten year old is cooking in the kitchen and a 10 year old has a excuse. So anyone who's reading this review or the owner? If someone wants to eat at this restaurant, when you're ordering anything that's gonna have salt, be very specific and say look, your reputation is you overly season your food with salt. I don't want overly salted food. I want it done properly and if it comes to me overly salty I'm not eating it. I'm not paying for it too. Maybe just maybe whomever is reading these reviews and saying they appreciate the feedback will actually do something. But you're not doing anything thus far so train your staff to know how to use salt properly and not shake it like it's parmesan on a pizza. No more overly salted food!

The Idea Muscle

Went for my birthday and had excellent appetizers and ambiance overlooking the ocean and coconut grove. We felt the island breeze and watched volleyball players skirmish all with above and beyond hospitality provided by our server lane. The manager seemed present as well and checked on us personally despite being busy and us having a party of ten.

Don't bother with the wait list. We were on the wait list and the hostess seated three groups ahead of us that just showed up (not on the waitlist). Then, told me we would have to wait an hour for a table. I was told the wait list wasn't accurate or something they look at and I should have called ahead for a better wait time estimate. When I complained, the hostess was very rude and again said it was my fault for using their waitlist tool on their website. When I said we were not going to wait the hour, she immediately removed me from the obsolete waitlist.Don't waste your time. There are better places in Kona.
