Chicken Yakitori is a must try! Crisp on the outside and tender juicy on the inside. Cooked perfectly where you would taste that smoky flavor but not any bitterness.

We tried to order more(just the chicken instead of the whole meal) and thought Yakitori chicken on the stick would taste very similar but it did not, still good though just a different way of cooking I guess.

This place is a hidden gem. All the other restaurants have the same $25 burger and fresh catch of the day. This place is unique, has fantastic food, and is really laid back. The host is very gracious and you get an amazing plate of food!!!

Loved it. Very quiet when we went, but service was top notch and the meal was one that I'll treasure. Highly recommended. We hope to be back someday.

Let me tell you a great story. My wife and I are at Fumis here in Kona HI. The other day we came in and didn't know we had top get our parking validated before we paid for parking. Well, Ronnie, the owner of the restaurant, came to our table and told us he would try to get our charge reversed. Im thinking okay, sure. So we come back in today. Who shows up at our table? Ronnie! He has a couple more questions before he can get our money back. Folks, tge food here is good, the service is good but the integrity of Ronnie is great!

If your looking for a delightful dining cultural experience, Fumi's is an excellent choice for a Japanese dining experience. The Mood as you enter relaxes you. The vibrant smiles enlighten you. The food, filled with pride, satisfies you. I was blown away with the dishes that and the care from the hostess. With much thanks... dinner for two. Amazing. 🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾

Kona’s secret treasure! Excellent food and quick service! I got the shiso clams with a side of ramen noodles to dump in after the clams were finished. Delicious and generous portions for a good price! If you’re in the area - this place is a must whether you’re in the mood for a quick bite or a nice meal with family/friends! Bonus: right next to the water!

Fumi's Kitchen was exactly what this group of four adults, a four-year-old, and a sixteen-month-old needed after a day of traveling from California. Family-style local food, treated like a family cookout, is what we got. We had noodles which the littles giggled and devoured, beef and yakitori sticks (bomb!), miso soup, bbq pork (this was crazy good), and the mac salad (which I took a to-go order to the condo!), and plenty of Kona lagers and fresh guava juice! The staff was so gracious, funny, helpful, and truly appreciated. You need to stop by and experience. TY Fumi's Kitchen 🤙🏽🌈😎

Place use to be better. Food came out undercooked, and parking was a pain to figure out.

This place is AMAZING! Get the jang Jo rim (spicy Korean beef stew). I’m eating my left overs and falling in love with the dish all over again so much that I’m inspired to try and make the dish myself one day. Thank you chefs and for the wonderful hospitality from the staff. Felt the aloha. 🫶

If you find yourself in Kailua-Kona craving a bowl of hot, comforting, slurp-worthy noodles, let me save you the trouble of searching—Fumi’s Kitchen is the spot. It’s the kind of local gem where you walk in, take one deep breath of that rich broth in the air, and immediately know you made the right choice. Let’s talk about the saimen first. The broth is light yet flavorful, packed with that umami goodness that makes you wonder if the chef secretly has a cauldron in the back. The noodles? Springy, chewy, and soaking up all that delicious broth like they were born for this. Add in the classic toppings—green onions, kamaboko (fish cake), char siu—and you’ve got a bowl of Hawaiian perfection. And then there’s the udon. Thick, bouncy udon noodles swimming in a deep, rich broth that somehow feels both hearty and light at the same time. The atmosphere is casual, the service is warm, and the food makes you want to move to the islands permanently.

In a town full of tourist food, Fumi's kitchen is the opposite - healthy, clean, wholesome meals can be found here for the tired tourist and locals alike. I realllllly enjoyed the chicken dish.
