Hands down the best place for a romantic dinner in Hawaii. Walk inside and be transported to France. It might not be Hawaiian, it might be on the more pricey side BUT I PROMISE you do not want to leave Hawaii without going here.

This is the best restaurant I’ve been to all year. The food was delicious and the server is very nice. The menu is well rounded and has enough options while not being hard to pick from. I had genuinely the best stake of my life here. It is worth noting that this is a three course meal restaurant so it might be more expensive than you would expect but it is very worth it. The deserts are fantastic and the 1st course has delicious soups.

The vibe is nothing less than Remi’s restaurant at the end of Ratatouille. As we indulged in some of the most decadent and loved dishes, we find out just before dessert that the waitress is the chef. Not just a chef, but an incredible artist: one that can make our palettes dance and gives another perspective to Hawai’i.
I urge you, give your time to a local business like this…rather than the many hotels. Enjoy a birthday, a date, one’s own company here at La Bourgogne ❤

This is the most amazing meal I've had on the Big Island. Drove past it for years, then decided on it for a date night. Its family run, personal and friendly staff. The head chef meets every guest. The skill of the cooking is impressive! It was a wonderful experience, we will be back and will be recommending this experience!

The most exquisite dining experience I have ever had! The mushroom soup was so rich and smooth and then everything else in our meal was done to perfection. The service is above and beyond expectations. We came there with my niece, Christie, who is a regular there and thank her for introducing us to this restaurant. Highly recommend you try it.

Fresh cooked dishes. The filet was tender and delicious. The Ono was dry with excessive lemon sauce. Over powering the delicate taste of the fish.

Absolutely stunning meal, on every level. Exquisitely prepared, no pretentiousness, a nod to the golden era of true fine dining. This place is what all restaurants WANT to be, but so very few can do anymore. This is true food, prepared with a deft touch and a reverence to classic proven technique, without all the tiktok/instagram fake filter garbage that so many have tried to make themselves look better. La Bourgogne doesn't need any of that BS, it's just simply...a real restaurant with a real crew working with real ingredients with real love for what they are doing now, not in the past or the future, but in that moment with eachother. When a restaurant staff clicks like that, you can taste it in what they put out. They all obviously have the gift of experience and an understanding of the culture of food, to not push the envelope where it doesn't need to be, but instead to slow down in the present and take the time to do things right. This restaurant is a gem. Plain and simple. Go there, quickly.

We dined here last weekend and, at first glance, the restaurant is small and feels a little dated—but don’t let that put you off. The food is phenomenal. The menu is simple and classic, yet every dish is executed to perfection. We enjoyed the French onion soup, mushroom soup (a special that night), catch of the day, cheese board, and the lilikoi cheesecake—everything was outstanding. The wine list is small but thoughtfully curated and pairs beautifully with the food. What truly made the experience special was the genuine family-owned atmosphere. The owner, who is also the head chef, came out to chat with us, which made us feel incredibly welcome and turned a great meal into a memorable one.

An unassuming location holds art both cooked and painted, with service that will make you feel like family, which is unsurprising as it is a family that will be serving you. Highly recommend

Excellent service, Excellent food. The place is old and beautiful. A bit of a smell when it just rained. Some of her (the Chef/owner) menu items are tremendous. The lobster bisque is one of the best I have ever had. The chocolate desserts are amazing. Very personable place to eat. If you want a beautiful relaxing place to eat with tremendous food...sign-up for a dinner here.
