Really cool free coffee tour, and tasty samples

The visit is pleasant, the lady explains all the processes to create their coffees. This visit is free and as a bonus you can taste their coffee flavors for free. Although expensive, it is possible to buy their coffee on site. For $10/group, no matter the number of people in your group, it is possible to take a short tour of part of their land. You don't see a ton of things there but it's still pleasant, especially considering the visit and the free coffee.

You can do it. Especially as coffeeLover. The beans and the style are something special. However, also expensive. The plantation is also beautifully situated in the small jungle.

This cloud forest coffee plantation was a trip highlight. The ride up the mountain into the jungle is the perfect setting to enter the premises where your are offered amazing coffee and get to learn all about the process of how it's made from a knowledgeable and fun team that clearly loves what they do. We opted for the nature walk which I also recommend to see the jungle plants up close while not being too difficult. Their overlook also offers a nice group picture opportunity at the end of the short walk. Met a local that drives an hour just to get their favorite coffee there. Do not leave without a bag of their top tier coffee, the peaberry.

We Chose to tour this location because of the greats reviews. We toured one other coffee plantation as part of a tour but this was still by far a better education into coffee processing than we grit at the other place. The tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable and by touring on a Sunday we were able to see all the machinery while not in use. Signed up for the twelve month coffee club because we loved it so much!

A very nice place to take a coffee tour and learn the process from plant to cup. A benefit of this location is it's accessibility as the terrain is flat and paved; the distance to walk is quite short (maybe 5-10 minutes). I appreciated seeing the 3 kinds of sorting machines (density, size, color), which I hadn't seen on previous coffee tours. My guide says it often rains in the afternoon so you may want to consider that in your timing.

Cute free short introduction to coffee and the roasting process. There is an optional $10 per group for a self guided tour of the lava tubes and native plants with a great viewing platform that you could eat a packed lunch on. Nice gift shop with coffee and related products.

Our tour guide, Masuko (apologies due to my likely misspelling), guided us through a brief, 20-minute complimentary tour. Both before and after, we were able to enjoy a variety of coffee tastings to warm us up since it was pretty cool at the farm. The tour was comprehensive and taught us a lot about the roasting process. There is an additional walking tour of the farm’s fauna for a fee, although we didn’t partake in this.

Great very informative free tour! Lots of free street parking near the entrance. They give you coffee samples of their various brews and give a very helpful description of their farm to cup process. They don’t let you see the plantation itself (at least without paying for the $10 guided tour) but there are plenty of coffee plants around with ripe coffee cherries near the site. Gift shop selling coffee beans and other products—got a bag for home!

The Mountain Thunder Coffee Plantation offers free tours every 30 minutes. They also offer free coffee! We enjoyed the tour and learned a great deal about how they grow their organic coffee. They do offer a Nature Trail walking self guided tour for $10. Although we were tempted, it had just stopped raining and since the path looked pretty steep, we were concerned about slipping. Interestingly, before going on the trail you have to sign a waver that you won’t hold the plantation responsible if you hurt yourself! They have a great gift shop and a coffee club that might beca wonderful way of enjoying their coffee when you are no longer in Hawaii.

A great way to get an introduction to coffee making and taste of local coffee. Free tour approx 20minutes which had a lot of information that even for us coffee drinkers did not know! We also paid to do an extra trail to see some better views and more of the coffee plantation. Highly recommend. Get there early as the free tours see a lot of people so can get a bit manic in parking and around the tour area.

A very enjoyable visit! There are free guided tours at certain times that cover the detailed process of how Kona coffee is made. The staff giving us the tour is very friendly and informative. You can also pay to visit their garden, which includes a variety of plants and a lava tube. It's absolutely worth a visit! We also enjoyed interacting with the two cats there, in particular, Princess.
