It’s just not very good food, save your money and go to Pine trees cafe instead.

This food was extremely good. We are from California, so are very used to excellent Mexican food. They served the best breakfast burrito that I have ever had (and happily included amazing chorizo and beans in it instead of skipping the beans like a lot of restaurants do). They also made excellent tacos. We have been coming to the Big Island for 30+ years, and this was some of the best food that we have had (and yes, we have gone to many of the restaurants on the island, both high-end and local favorites). The location is in a small shopping center near the airport (great for getting food for a flight). It was packaged in very portable containers. While it is not a destination for in-restaurant dining because of the shopping center location off the highway - not fancy and no views - it is perfect for a quick meal and/or togo for a flight or dinner at home watching the sunset (and not having to cook). And if you don't care about views, the restaurant is clean and has plenty of seating. The stream of people at 10:30 in the morning, all appearing to be locals, was evidence of their great food. Do not pass this place up.

The food and the customer service is amazing one of the best Mexican restaurants I've had the pleasure to eat at in Hawaii. Must go to if you are in Kona

So glad we stopped in. Food was great, quick service and nice atmosphere! I got the carne asada fries and a beef and cheese empanada. My boyfriend got the chile relleno and it was so good too!

Always come for their Asada Bowls with the hot sauce. CAUTION: Subject to falling asleep while driving after eating due to some finger licking asada. I love Latinas and their cooking. Don’t lie to me.

The worst food I’ve paid for on the island. Everything I ordered was barely edible. I ordered very simple things that should be hard to get so wrong- a bean, rice, and cheese burrito with whole black beans and a queso and chips.

The tortilla on the burrito was so dried out and crunchy I almost cracked a tooth trying to take my first bite. Can’t figure out how this is even possible on a steamed and rolled burrito. The rice and beans both had zero seasoning or flavor. The ingredients are all so cold that the shredded cheese inside doesn’t melt at all, so every bite of the burrito was just cold dry and unflavored mush wrapped in a stale crunchy tortilla. The only saving grace was the salsa they give on the side, which I had to drown the burrito in to even be able to stomach eating it.

The “queso” should be taken off the menu. Not sure what kind of cheese this was but it had a sour taste to it and was so liquidy and broken it seemed watered down. It would not even stick to the greasy chips at all. There were huge chunks of raw onion and peppers in it.

The staff was incredibly nice though! I feel bad writing such a bad review, but I feel like I should warn people not to waste their money here when there are plenty of other options around.

My veggie burrito, queso, and a beer cost $32 with tip and I had to throw more than half of the food away because it was inedible.

Don’t know why this place was rated 3.9. Great food, quick service, smiling staff, and very large portions.

The tacos were just okay — not as great or authentic as I was hoping. The flavors were a bit underwhelming.

As a mexican, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the food was pretty good. Served quickly and staff was nice, would come back again.

For the price you pay, the serving size has gone down. It can't be too much more money to give a larger serving of rice and beans. The Guacamole a couple times has been a little off tasting. Salsa is always good. My favorite though is their Chile Arellano. Overall, I mean I always go back. Lol. So it's not bad. I just wish it had a few minor improvements. I do love the decor.

A little skeptical that the somewhat rude and impersonal gal working the register had forgotten it was $4 Taco Tuesday @ 2PM in the afternoon. Classic tourist grift.

We weren't sure what to expect but what a great surprise from this cute little restaurant conveniently located right off the main highway in Kona. Service was super friendly, food came out fast, and the place was nice anwasean. We ordered three tacos and the green chili plate. The green chili was a standout! Best I have had on the island. The tacos were also good, and a nice size...and they have a nice happy hour, beer is $4 and strong Margaritas are 6.50.

Vegetarian options but rice contains chicken broth, lady at front was nice enough to let us know that. However, food is so blend..we ordered six dishes and gave just one half filled small plastic container of sauce. Asked for more and she just gave such a look. If you are vegetarian, should go to this place only if no other option.
