Willie's Hot Chicken

This place is awesome! My son and I got 2 three piece orders of chicken so he could try all the the hot sauce. The "Lava" is VERY hot, but totally eatable. We had front row seats to Flock of Egos, and they absolutely killed it 👏.
We will definitely be back.

I’ve come here quite a few times and always it is great! I love the chicken and waffles and get them every time. Their syrup has an incredible hint of cinnamon to it that is subtle yet very present. Food always comes out hot and fresh. Atmosphere is great at any time of the day. Music, cars, birds, it all blends together and makes a quaint but lively dinner.

They were super fast and everything was great. They do have gluten free breading and a dedicated fryer for the side winder fries, though it’s not advertised anywhere on their menu or website. Multiple GF options.

I had the pleasure of meeting the owner of Willie's Hot Chicken at a tattoo shop down the street (not sure if his name was Willy!). He recommended we check it out while we were in Kona, and I'm so glad we did! We visited on the last night of our trip, and I was truly impressed—the chicken was absolutely delicious.

I brought my whole family with me, including my mom, stepdad, brother, sister, and my sister's partner, along with my three sons. It’s not easy to please everyone, especially since both my brother and sister have food sensitivities, but they all loved the food and didn't have any issues!

I really wish there was a Willie's Hot Chicken closer to home because I would definitely be a regular. Unfortunately, I live in WA, right across the bridge from Portland, OR, and we just can’t find anything like it around here.

Oh, and I found it super coincidental that the tattoo I got while I was there looked almost exactly like the design on the beer cups. Such a fun memory!

Kid-friendliness: The place was poppin and definitely had a bar and sports on the TV, but my family and I, including, three young boys sat outside and enjoyed the nice evening breeze.

Good chicken, several good heat choices, good sides to choose from. Willie's is a winner for your hot chicken dinner. Small interior dining but, there are many seats outdoors as long as it doesn't rain.

Willie's lives up to the hype. My chicken tenders were perfect; moist and tender on the inside, crunchy crust on the outside. I only tried the house sauce; but I will have to go back to try some of the other sauces.

The Frozen Mai Tai was delicious; and packed such a punch! 5 out of five; I will be visiting again.

We were at Willie's Hot Chicken in Kona, Hawaii tonight and we had a great freaking time. They had great live music and delicious food. We had the chicken fingers and they were 10/10 and the potato wedges were weirdly good. The live band was amazing and Willy himself is a total vibe. I highly recommend checking this place out if you want friendly service, awesome food, and fantastic live music Thursday, Friday, and Saturdays. Thanks Willy!

You will enjoy this food if you like chicken. Roughly resembles Buffalo Wild Wings or Zaxby’s. Being in a heavily tourist area, the cost is roughly $25 per person with a drink.

My experience was tainted by a simple request for another 1 oz cup of baconaise sauce when my first little cup ran out. They wanted to charge me for it. A great eatery doesn’t do that to its customer. So, I ate the remaining checkin without this tasty sauce.

That aside, I’m sure you’ll enjoy your experience here.

I love Nashville hot chicken and Willie's did not disappoint!! Plus the added bonus of having dark meat available that my friends loved. Everything was so tasty, service was great, plenty of parking, and mostly outdoor seating. Luckily we got to sit inside with the AC. Definitely recommend!
