“We have been visiting Kona Village (and the Cookhouse) since they reopened after the tsunami & rebuild. The Cookhouse has been through several iterations since — both chefs and menus — and the last time we ate there (probably a year and a half ago) we vowed never to go back. But we did and I'm glad! A new chef is now at the helm (3 months in) who is committed to sourcing local ingredients and executing a beautifully curated menu with fresh produce and thoughtful flavours. They cooked around my allergies (numerous) without being ask which I always hugely appreciate. Service was excellent. We had a late reservation (8pm) and the restaurant was starting to thin out slightly — it would have been much busier at an earlier sitting. If, like us, your last experience was less than stellar, I would recommend giving it another chance whilst this new chef is in residence. He has brought heart back to the Cookhouse and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience :)“

“Airport poke. Who knew?? Our morning flight to the island ran out of food options, so we were starving by the time we arrived in the afternoon. We got the spicy ahi, seaweed salad, mac salad, and cucumber kimchi on the side. It was so fresh and delicious!! It was so good that we had it again right before we departed.
Noticed some tourists were not very kind. Remember to treat the staff like people, even if you're in a bit of a rush.“

“Pleasantly surprised . . My hubby didn't want to go because he said nothing in this location has ever been good. I said c'mon . . Let's give it a try. Boy did he change his mind. The smoked tri tip flat bread and tacos were AMAZING !! We both left there wanting more. So good 🥰“
