My family loves Donut King. It’s nestled right inside Kailua town. They have a wide selection of donuts and croissants from filled to unfilled. They’re generously sized and delicious. Did I mention these donuts are also warmed? Salivating. You can head next door to Morning Brew for a hot cup of coffee too.

This place made me SO MAD!!! I was trying to eat less and cut sweets on my trip to Hawaii… CRONUTS!!! Are you kidding me? Do y’all know what that is? That’s Croissant Donuts, my first day I had to get 2 dozens. YES MY FIRST DAY, cause I went back multiple times in one vacation to Oahu. And then they make Cronut Holes!!! WHAT!!! Give two dozens of those as well. But in all seriousness, delicious donuts, a bit on the pricey side, but that’s what you get in Hawaii. I can’t wait to go back and have more… I might have a problem y’all ??

So I found myself in Kailua one morning with a hankering for donuts. A quick check in Yelp led me to Donut King, located in a small strip mall across the street from CPK. It's a small place with one large case filled with delicious baked goods that will tempt your will power. I ordered a recommendation of croissant bites, the maple bacon donut, and a ham and cheese croissant. They did offer to heat up my ham and cheese croissant but since I was heading home opted to decline this service. They also have a lot more items than the 3 items I selected but it's the beginning of the year and I better start off slow! Safely at home with my baked goods I started with the croissant bites. They come in half and full dozen. Soft and pillowy on the inside but flakey and glazed on the outside this small pillow of love keeps you satisfied for something sweet while keeping you wanting more of that flakey goodness. It's a good thing I ordered a dozen because a smashed 3 of them in quick succession. The maple bacon donut was even better. A soft airy donut covered in a maple syrup glaze. Topped with bits of crispy bacon makes every bite sweet and savory. The only thing wrong with this donut was that I didn't get 2 of them! Perfect with coffee and or milk (I did both!). This donut is a must try for sure. I had the ham and cheese croissant for lunch. Hit it in the toaster oven for a few minutes and out it came. Crispy and buttery flake pastry surrounding a generous roll of ham and cheese. The size is perfect for a light lunch or a heavy snack. So if you find yourself on the Windward side please make a stop at Donut King. This is a local bakery that shouldn't be missed.

Love this cute little donut shop! Ever since i moved back from the mainland, where I lived, there had a donut shop on almost every other corner. I noticed that there aren't many donut shops around here so seeing one made me so happy. Usually when I come in, there's always a sweet lady that works there and she provides friendly service and is so sweet. My favorite item(s) to get are the Croissant donuts/Croissant Donut Holes. So so good. It's crispy, flaky, with such a delicious glass that's not overly sweet, but perfect.

Melt in your mouth donuts! Favorites are the donut holes and cinnamon crumb donuts. The croissant breakfast sandwiches are great also! Go early for best selection. Stores are small and can be crowded, but service is quick and the stores look clean.Parking: Parking at Kailua and Kapahulu locations can be busy, but I always find a spot.

This is the best donut shop for maple bars, hands down. I get the maple bar every time and it's just heavenly. I just can't get myself to get anything else. I wish they made more throughout the day...maybe they do and it just sells out too quickly. Anyway, it's the best and if you don't want to come in, don't. More for me!
