Best culinary surprise of our visit to Kailua. We had the Kailua pork, Portuguese sausage, tots, cornbread, brussels, cornbread and Mac. Every single item was fantastic. Five stars across the board.

Absolutely one of the best bbq spots I've been to. The service was amazing also. I will definitely be coming back here and telling everyone about it!

Objectively:Greeting: Good hostess who was very welcoming. It took about 45 minutes to get seated without reservations as it was peak timing, and this place is apparently very popular! I suggest reservations, which they do accept.Service:Waited 20 minutes for someone to take a drink order. Waited another 15-20 for someone to bring them. Waiter was kind and was just doing his best based on the busy nature of the place. It was peak timing, so I it did take awhile to get food. It was probably another 45 minutes before we got our food from ordering.Atmosphere:It has an outside and inside seating. The outside is kind of like a busy garden party. The tables are VERY close together and they aren't the same size. They put two of them together in an awkward formation on the front deck next to a window. They weren't the same size and it was awkward for our party. It still had a nice feel to it. I just wish they maybe took out about 10% of the seating they had now. Like I said, this place is popular.Food/Menu:All of my family left food on their plate that they just weren't impressed with (hardly ever happens). Namely, the basics of macaroni and cheese and fried chicken were not to our liking. We're southern mainland people and it just wasn't for us. However, it seems other people love it. We liked the cornbread okay and kalua pork was fair. The menu was not as diversified as I had hoped for.I feel like this is the place you would come to have drinks and apps with your friends versus really eat a meal. It would be ideal for that, honestly.Parking:Shares parking with a couple surrounding shops. At peak timing, parking was at a premium and almost a struggle. But we did find something on the back side of the building.Cost: Meals run in the $18 - $20 range for fair-sized portions.

Just like their breakfast place (Over Easy) a block away in Kailua, the food is so tasty. The husband and wife team (owners) are formally trained chefs. They do a remarkable job on creating specialty dishes, as well as making basic menu items a cut above the norm. Hubby loves their Portuguese sausage and brisket dinner and I love their pulled pork.

Outstanding , whenever I come it makes me wonder why dont come more often I didn't bring my vegetarian family thinking of the meat featured specials but I was mistaken , the crispy edges pancakes, custard French toast and eggplant sandwich looked delicious But I had the special country steak and eggs served with rice ( chef, make biscuits in the day you make this) also came with a mushroom gravy and I ordered the house made sausage on side but needn't have bothered in fact enough for two-meals all told , they make a good Bloody Mary, fresh homemade tomatoes, outstanding coffee I could go on , also a hint, if just two or one of you ask for counter and slide right in but I noticed it was crowded but early no wait, people are nice but I must tell you , don't go expecting a lot of revisions or changes to preparation , it's a breakfast chef so if want it made your way try a different place, if willing to trust chef and I highly recommend it ( and my friends unfairly say I am picky and demanding so not easy to please) go here for breakfast

Took my granddaughter to lunch here today. We have been talking about trying it and read all the great reviews. First I must say, staff was great. They were friendly, professional, and on top of their game. We ordered a plate lunch selecting the brisket and chicken with sides of Mac & cheese & coleslaw and the grilled cornbread. The brisket had great flavor, sadly the 2 pieces of brisket on the plate were about 80% inedible fat. The chicken should be described as it is; a chicken thigh. Very tasty once you get past the rubbery under cooked chicken skin. Pretty awful in my opinion. Mac & cheese, was delicious, cooked to perfection. Coleslaw a bit limpy, taste was good, but definitely not very fresh. It's been around a few days. Ambiance was nice, just what you would expect for casual dining. Sadly, we will probably not go back which is a shame, as we like to support our local business.

Best Western style BBQ Ive ever had. Hands down! Finally on the Windward side on a day when they're open (waiting years to try this place because Im only on the dark side on Mondays) I got to give this place a try and I wish I had sooner. This is the first time I wish Yelp had 10 star rating. 5 just seems ...not enough. Everything I ate was excellent! Old Fashioned - smooth and how do you make a luxardo taste better? No idea but they've figured it out. My friend orders burnt ends -she says "they might sell out". I say "that doesn't sound good." Im wrong - they're awesome. Smokey, fatty (not gross but juicy) and they dont need sauce at all. Then complimentary homemade pickles - sour and crunchy with some onion. Loved them!!!! I ordered shoe pork belly and biscuit with grilled cornbread, tater tots and Brussel sprouts. I don like Brussel sprouts but I downed these so fast - I couldn't stop eating them, they were so savory and delicious! Tator tots! How do you improve a tater tot??? I dont know but they did! The belly was crispy and soft and tender at the same time. The brisket was juicy and went really well with their amazing homemade BBQ sauce. The grilled corn bread - best corn bread Ive ever had with the honey butter...I want more right now! I cant wait to go back. The only missing was some banana pudding, which they dont have.

We recently visited from Memphis, TN. We were looking for a place to eat and stumbled upon this gem. The food was delicious. Everything. Our host Andrea was amazing. My favorites were the brisket, Mexican corn, and the brussel sprouts. I don't normally care for those, but I would eat theirs anytime. Definitely will return on my next visit. Although parking was a challenge but the staff were helpful in getting us a spot.
