honestly, food is overpriced & menu selection is minimal. we had GREAT service but i am sure that had everything to do with there only being 3 other tables being served at any given time, to include our seats at the bar. food was fine but nothing to entice me to return any time soon. take it or leave it, but i'd most likely leave it considering they want to charge me $61 for a choice cut steak.

We got the Salmon Picatta and the Lasagna (which wasn’t on the menu but was instead recommended); both were absolutely delicious. Great happy hour prices—50% off starters and drinks. I opted for 3 different appetizers and a bourbon lemonade, all for a total of $34.50. The bacon wrapped shrimp ? were amazing floating in some kind of delicious sauce, the roasted Brussels sprouts were delish and the blue cheese & walnut salad was as well. Happy hour is from 4:30pm - 5:30 pm.

Had a wonderful time for a girls night at Formaggios and was awed by their amazing musician that was playing all night. Atmosphere is 9/10 and drinks were 10/10. Ordered the vanilla pineapple mojito and BOY OH BOY was it good. I wanted to drink five of them, haha.I’ll give props to their menu which has a personal touch and comment for each of the dishes and drinks. The pasta was a too al dente and seemed rushed out. The servers did let us know that two people called out and there was a party of 25 next door, so it was understandable.Would 100% recommend for the drinks and on a non busy night, will try the menu again to see if the food is improved.

Had dinner last night. The server was great and very helpful. The food was good but pricey. The atmosphere sucked because the live music performer thought he needed to blast his music throughout the restaurant. We asked a couple of times for him to lower the volume. The highlight of the evening was when he packed up and left.

Out of everything that I rated Formaggio for, the service was the standout. The staff were very attentive and polite. The reason I marked the ambiance as a four is the same reason I marked the noise level as energetic. The setup inside the restaurant is beautiful and the vibe is great. However, there was a musician that we thought was a bit too loud and inhibited our conversation. He was very talented and other patrons really enjoyed his music. I just wish he could turn it down a little bit.

Went to a different steak house close by. They told me it would be a 30 min wait. After 30 mins, they told me it would be another 1hr. I left and went here. No wait, live music at the perfect volume, excellent food, cold beer. Polite and professional wait staff. I would come here again and again. BTW, that other steak house was “Buzz’s”.

This place always delivers. The bruchetta was out of this world!!!!. Jill our waitress was so sweet and kind and her customer service was on point. Being a private chef myself , I am really picky when it come to places that I will eat at. This place always gets me. I will drive from the north shore of Oahu to come here to eat and partake of their many amazing wines as well.

It was great! The food was excellent and the service was fast. Friendly and pleasant servers. Couldn't have had a better experience, it is one of our favorite special-occasion restaurants.
We really enjoyed our dinner last evening. Service was friendly and reserved. Our server knew beforehand when we needed something, but otherwise she did not interrupt our dinner. We had a Caesar salad, filet mignon (w/ béarnaise sauce on the side) and the matcha green tea tiramisu for dessert. All servings were spot on, particularly the filet mignon (medium) served on a bed of fresh roasted vegetables with crisp fries on the side. Our server recommended a glass of Prisoner, which nicely complimented the meal. We also enjoyed the guitarist who played and sang popular melodies throughout the evening. All in all a 10! Thanks Formaggio!

Just wanted to remind people that it is very expensive and difficult to keep a non-chain restaurant open in Hawaii. Yes, we old-timers remember when Formaggio served escargot and boeuf bourguignon, but restaurants change with the times. I'm just happy this place is still here, serving good food, in a casual atmosphere, with great service, and even live entertainment. Prices have crept up, which they have everywhere, but that doesn't stop us from coming in once a month and they have enough menu items to keep us coming back. (If I may ask, what happened to the picture of Felix the Cat? My son's favorite, lol)

We arrived around 7pm on Saturday night. There was 4 of us. From what I saw, there were 3 empty tables when we arrived. I didn't count, but it looked like there were no more than 15 tables total. They sat is at a table pretty quickly, gave us menus. After sitting for about 10 minutes, the hostess offered us water, then took our order. One group that was seated next to us left without ordering. A waitress came to our table to let us know they could not take our order for 40 minutes because the kitchen was behind. We left without getting anything and went to a different restaurant.
