We come here sporadically. Our favorite app is the Brussels and cauliflower. It was undercooked, lacked the normal about of seasoning and sauce, and was disappointing. I ordered my burger medium, there was zero pink. Not the best experience but we had a good time.

We ate outside on a beautiful Kailua evening. The waitress was friendly and took drink orders as we sat down. I had the house salad (one of the best I've ever had) and the red snapper. I wanted the filet mignon but they were out of it. The snapper was delicious. I would recommend this restaurant.

Drinks - Shi-So Sparkly: Aperol, Vodka, St. Germaine, Yuzu, Shiso- Strawberry, Topped with Prosecco This drink was suggested by our waiter. My guest liked this drink and said they would order it again. Starters - Fry Basket: Portobello Mushrooms Fries, Herb Cream Cheese - Golden Cali Roll: Crispy Fried, Crab Mix & Spicy Tuna, Avocado, Kabayaki, Truffle Aioli - Aburi Salmon Roll: Crab Mix & Avocado, Torched Salmon, Scallion, Kabayaki & Ponzu, Smoked Trout Roe I really liked the Golden Cali Roll, and it is on the happy hour menu ($15 versus $23), so if you go early, you can get it at a discount. My guest really liked the Aburi Salmon Roll, but this one wasn't on the happy hour menu, so expect to pay full price. Mains - Truffled Gnocchi with Garlic Shrimp: Onda Pasta Gnocchi, Fontina Cheese, Alfredo, Truffle Oil - Braised Beef Short Ribs: Creamy Polenta, Kale & Tomato, Teriyaki Bordelaise Demi Glace The restaurant was out of the Black Truffle Crusted Filet Mignon, so the Braised Beef Short Ribs was ordered instead. Our waiter suggested that we could switch from the creamy polenta to mashed potatoes, and this was an excellent choice. I am not sure if the dish would have been enjoyed as much with the polenta. The Truffled Gnocchi was amazing. This was my first time eating Gnocchi in a restaurant, and I was not disappointed. Since we had already ordered so much food that I took some home, however, the dish was just as good the next day. Dessert We had listed a special occasion on our reservation, and they brought out a small mocha cheesecake, which was also amazing. Overall, this place is great for a special occasion or a dinner with family, and it is on the pricier side, but as a treat once in a while, it was worth it.

We were celebrating a birthday at lunch time and I requested an indoor table on open table reservation but instead we were taken to the outdoor lanai. It was super hot and I was a sweaty mess. Next time I'll insist on indoor where it's cooler- that's on me. The food & service was great tho and I'll def be back for the crispy skin salmon over squid ink pasta

Goen has been my favorite dining spot in Kailua for years, since they opened. Last night, we enjoyed a great Mother's Day dinner with special entrees and dessert. The scallops with risotto and the prime rib with mashed potatoes were excellent. The service was very good, as usual and the staff were very accommodating for the 3 of us and the baby. I come here often, and definitely will continue doing so to enjoy their Happy Hours from Sunday thru Wednesday, and any special dinners that they offer.

My girlfriend and I had a fabulous lunch at Goen. The food was great, especially the salmon roll. To top it off we tried the tiramisu which was the best I've ever had. Service was great, the manager checked on us, and the ambience was perfect.

Food preparation quality was inconsistent, with some dishes cooked to near-perfection but others just mediocre. Servings of mixed greens in salads were much too large in comparison with the skimpy volume of other salad ingredients. Service staff were efficient, unfailingly attentive, and a pleasure to deal with. Nice atmosphere and pleasant live music.
