I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to Indian food, so I did the basic thing and ordered what I saw everyone else on the internet get: Buttered Chicken and garlic Naan. Honestly, it was delicious. I ordered it with a level 3 spice, should have gone hotter, but I'm not a complete rookie and know there's a difference between Asian hot and American hot. It came with like some source of herb-sauce... not sure what I was supposed to do with it, but it was great. There's no seating, so that can be a bit of a challenge (we went across the street to Down to Earth). The service was great, the guy there was very sweet. It looks like they're still trying to get on their feet, but overall, I'd go back & try other menu items!

First timers! If it wasn't for TikTok convincing my son to try butter chicken, I don't think I would've came across this place. We ordered takeout of the butter chicken & garlic naan, it was amazing! We ended up going back a week later.

Takeout only. You order at a table right in the door. Ordered the Samosas and Chana Masala. Very happy with the flavors! Food is made to order so everything was still hot even by time I got home.

The food here is fantastic for being on an Island with a lack of ethnic Indians. Easily in the top w BBB three for best Indian restaurants on the island. To top it of the owner/chef is a very pleasant person.Source: I am Indian ;)

Great take-out!Thought I had reviewed Himalayan Kitchen! Ventured here with lunch mate who highly recommended it. I can see why.We over-ordered to get a taste of their menu (and to have great leftovers lol).Ordered lamb biryani, chicken tikka masala, madras curry, and naan bread; enjoyed it all.You may dine at tables located in this strip mall (Times Supermarket is anchor store). Finding parking in this lot may present a challenge. Keep circling as spaces do open up.

Deliciousssss. They ask you what you want your spicy level 1-10 which I appreciate would recommend. The tikka masala was my favorite. The naan was also amazing. They're busy so call it in before you go, worth the wait tho and the gentleman are super nice

Himalayan Kitchen has returned to higher quality and taste in the last year. The naan and chicken used to be dry, but now the food is consistently fresh and delicious. We're upping our rating!

I have been doing this long enough to know a few things. One bad meals does not indicate a terriblerestaurant. But that said , the one time I ate here was TERRIBLE. A little background, I've been eating at and enjoying the original location in Kaimuki since it opened. The friendly owner and staff are familiar and it has been one of my neighborhood faves. I came to the Kailua shop for take out and ordered chicken vindaloo and rice, simple right? Wrong. So the chucked was cut into large chunks, it was chicken breast, dry, hard and tasteless, like chunks of wood. That should not be served, this is what happens when chicken is cooked, the refrigerated or frozen, then reheated several times thru this cycle. It was inedible. Likewise the rice was long grain, hard and dried out, no nice fresh rice smell, terrible texture. Very disappointing. One more comment, why does the sign read India Cafe, when the business is listed as Himalayan Kitchen? For the past 20 yrs these have been two different businesses. Strange, and again this all stinks of very poor management.

Lovely Indian food with vegan and vegetarian options as well as chicken, shrimp, lamb & fish. They have lunch specials which includes curry bowl with curry of the day, and it comes in a vegetarian or meat option & includes basmati rice.Tip 1: They are short staffed so don't have dine in, and you order from the door. If no one is out front just say "hello!" From the door and someone will come out to take your order.Tip 2: The sign above the sidewalk says India Cafe, not Himalayan Cafe, but you are in the right place!I love naan, and plain naan is classic for a reason. You can't go wrong with a classic, but I also equally love Keema Naan (it has ground lamb with onion and spices - delicious) or garlic naan.Portions are huge! My lunch bowl was enough for two meals. They're also on Door Dash and Bite Squad.I do wish they could turn the dining area into and ordering and waiting area by the than having to stand out on the sidewalk .

1st time having Indian food it was great! The wait to get the food was a little long due to them being understaffed. The customer service was great. The menu has a lot of different options to choose from. There’s no dine in, only take out. The butter chicken with white rice and garlic naan was delicious. Definitely coming back again.

This place is DBA Himalayan Kitchen. I'm not sure why it says India Cafe. Excellent service even though it's take-out only. The cashier is soooo friendly. Food was great, especially the naan! We will be back to try more. I think it's best to call in your order beforehand as the wait is pretty long.
