My family and I have been going to Konos for years, starting with the original North Shore location and also the newer one in Waikiki. During this trip, we visited the Kailua location.
While my wife was parking the car, my kids and I went ahead to look at the menu. After we were seated and reviewing it, a staff member from the counter called out loudly in our direction saying there was no strawberry, pineapple, jalapeño, etc., because one of the fridges was broken. I found this a bit disrespectful since we were not greeted or welcomed first, and she did not approach our table to let us know.
When our bombers arrived, they were not labeled, so we had to guess which one belonged to each person. My wife ordered the Wendy’s Bomber and noticed it was missing the bacon. When she informed the staff, one of the ladies in the kitchen placed a single strip of bacon in a to-go container and brought it to the table...no apology, actually, not a single word spoken. That felt disappointing — especially since the item was incomplete. Offering two or three strips as an apology, would have been appreciated.
This was definitely our worst experience at a Konos location. We visit Hawaii regularly and hope the Kailua store invests more in customer service training.
On a positive note, I ordered the Chun’s Bomber and, as always, it was goooood. Their 12-hour slow-cooked Kalua pork is still the best....but the potatoes were extremely salty

Stopped by for a quick low key bite to eat, we shared the nachos and each got a lemonade, pineapple and guava. The gal made our nachos with love and pointed out she makes them in layers for maximum cheesiness. I appreciated the care and the guava bbq sauce was fantastic!

The best pulled pork anywhere, full stop. We buy it by the pound with sides like rice and sauce and it's easy and delicious and a great meal for a family.

I had the BEACH sandwich. It was fresh and somewhat good. The eggs tasted like powder fake eggs. I could not eat them. They tasted yucky. The rest of the sandwich was good.. bacon, ham, avocado and the baguette was soft.
