very yummy sandwich!! we got the old school. the bread was light and the meat inside was delicious. workers are sweet and bring the food straight to you, even though you order at a counter. only downside is that the lemonade is EXTREMELY sour. it tasted like there was no sugar added, but besides that a great experience! inside is clean and there's a bathroom around the back that's also clean.

We stopped by recently to get a burrito and pork tacos. I specifically asked to have the sauces on the side. I did not want any bbq or guava sauce on the tacos. The woman who took my order even repeated back my request. I should have checked my order before I left. The order was completely wrong. They gave us a breakfast burrito with eggs and they put bbq sauce on the tacos. Also, my husband said the quality of the pork has gone downhill. It used to have more of a smoky flavor and there was more crispiness. This was my first time here but not going back. I paid $32 (including tip) and it wasn't worth it! UPDATE: Andrew reached out to me right after this posted. He offered to comp me another meal AND refund the $32. I went to the Kapahulu store and tried the Biscuits Slider Trio. I had a better experience there!

Not a very good experience today. My brother in law got me a coconut cream pie milkshake from here once so I figured I would go get one and try out the food since I have never actually been here before. I go in and look at the menu I end up ordering 2 milkshakes, the club wrap, pulled pork sliders and the queens burrito. He told me my total was $63.98 and I was immediately shocked on how expensive it was. I gave them a $8.96 tip making my total $72.94. Upon receiving my food I checked everything to make sure it was right and I was about to walk out the door I noticed my "club sandwich" had Avacado on it. When I had spoke to the gentleman earlier and asked what all came on it he said nothing about Avacado and then I realize it also had cucumbers and no bacon and realized this was not my sandwich. I took the food back and explained that this was not my sandwich, I had to explain multiple times to the guy I placed the order with that the stuff in the sandwich was not what came on the club. He just kept looking at me confused. He finally took my sandwich back after realizing what was wrong and said they would make a new one. When I ordered they were not busy but it picked up a little bit. Well I waited and waited and waited for them to remake a small wrap, nothing hard to it. Kept seeing multiple orders go out but took their time remaking mine. By the time I left my other food was cold and my milkshakes were really runny. When I got home I had to put ice in my watery milkshakes to even drink them because of them being a weird warm room temperature. Very upset with how much I spent for a bad experience like this.

Perfect post swim bite! Loved the Kalua Pig Nachos. The staff were friendly and the food came out at a decent time. Right by Lanakai beach. Found parking around the back. Will make this a must stop when I visit the island again.

I used to love Kono’s and their food used to be awesome! It’s now filthy inside and the food quality and portion has gone way down. It’s sad to see such a local gem turn into a tourist trap.

Good things do come in small packages.... Small location with limiting seating but good bang for your buck.. Get a Bomber!! I tried the Chuns Bomber (Kahula pig and bacon) added avocado... I had no idea what I was getting into until the bomber was placed in my hand... it is hefty... the pork was tender and juicy, tortilla was warm... unfortunately I couldn't finish it and my husband even had some...

I’m not sure what would’ve happened that anyone would leave anything but a 5 star review. If you don’t try this place you’re missing out! The seating inside is limited to 3 tables, so plan accordingly.

We placed an online order…it said 40 min wait. So we showed up 40 min later to pick it up, but they weren’t tracking or making the order yet. Then they found it and we waited another 25 minutes. Over an hour for a call ahead order to go. Unfortunately, the food isn’t good enough to wait that long :/

Asking for a tip at checkout then walking past the straws to hand a milkshake and have an attitude to "get them yourself "when asked for one is wild. Sliders meat portion was a disappointment, $55 with tip for 2 entrees and and milkshakes pretty steep especially for the

Came to Kono's hoping to try the Pork Plate for the first time, But when I tried to order it, the worker handling the register said they did not have rice. So I was thinking why would they be serving Hawaiian food without rice. It just didn't make any sense. The worker was not friendly and was not able to tell us the wait time or if they were cooking rice, so I had to pick something to eat last minute. When I got the Kailua sliders, it didn't satisfy me at all. This location should be more organized and well prepared to service Hawaiian Food that they are "proud" to serve. Really wished the employees are trained more properly to tell wait times for items they should have and appropriately how to communicate to paying customers.
