Maui Brewing Co. Kailua

Enjoyed the beers but waited a long time to receive our food order once it was placed with our waitress. When I finally inquired, someone else came by to apologize and comp our rib dish. The ribs as well as my pork pull sandwich was cold. For a slow Friday night with reservations at 6:45pm, will not eat there again. There was also a kitchen service fee added to bill.

Came here for a Business Meeting Food was great Drinks were as always delicious Music was a little too loud (we had to yell over it, but our table was close to the musicians on top of Bose speakers amplifying the sound) but the music was absolutely amazing !!!

Met up with a group and the wait staff and ability to do separate checks was perfect! An awesome experience.

This was one of the most perfect restaurants I have ever been to. Absolutely lovely atmosphere, great tunes, spacious seating area but doesn’t feel sparse, very tentative staff who had our food and drinks ordered and served within minutes. The food itself was outstanding; I can honestly say it was some of the best food on our trip! Would highly recommend!

Good food, decent drinks, decent beer, horrible chickens. I don’t ever mind going here because it’s consistently good. It’s annoying that chickens are so abundant inside the outdoor seating.

My boyfriend and I ordered an appetizer that didn’t even come out until our lunch came which was weird. We waited a while for the food as well so it would have been nice to get the app as an app. Food wasn’t bad but it was nothing special. There are way better places to go that have better service and vibes and I felt like we paid so much money for the food we got

Ordering can be done on your phone whilst in the restaurant. Live music sometimes. Slow to get our drink orders and it was well after the lunch rush.

To be fair, let me preface my review with a little grace...maybe my experience was because it was later in the evening. But maybe not.

It was a first date (and a last one - but the restaurant had nothing to do with that haha) and it was his suggestion. It was around 9:30 on a Friday night, we'd gotten a late start and didn't have much to choose from.

We arrived and seated ourselves. Then we sat. And sat. Which was generally fine, we talked, but after 20 minutes, my date and I were like...ooookay...do we just make up what we want to eat and tell the kitchen ourselves?

10 more minutes passed before someone came and gave us menus and took our drink order.

I should mention that the place wasn't busy. There were maybe 5 other parties, total of maybe 20-25 people.

So we get our water and I order a li hing margarita. 10 minutes later it arrived and my date ordered sushi, BBQ wings, nachos and ube cheesecake for us to share pupu style. I asked if I could have the cheesecake first and my wish was granted.

Folks, this cheesecake is responsible for 1 of those 2 stars. It was delicious - creamy but not too sweet and not too ube. I thought it was a good sign, you know?

Then the food came.

The sushi was supposed to be an ahi roll. I don't know what they mixed in with the ahi but it was all mush and that didn't seem to do anything for the dish, except make me not want to eat any more of it.

The BBQ wings were...cold. The sauce that came with them was okay, my date said he liked it.

The nachos were delicious, but a little sparse on toppings.

Oh, my margarita? Tasted like a pre-made syrup with a little bit of alcohol and no li hing. I didn't even drink it all.

The staff were nice, I don't want you to think they aren't. I don't know why it took so long and I hate to give this review after just one visit, but I don't plan on returning.

Conclusion: Maui Brewing's beer is great. The end.

Food is trash beer is okay everything is overpriced, but the location is AMAZING! Makes everything else worth it. It is the only bar in Kailua with a decent place to sit. Wish the staff was better or at least hadn’t tried to semi transition out of the online system because it really did work better for them. I mean if you’re going to hire inexperienced kids let us use an app to bypass them. But seriously the best bar in Kailua to just hang out and enjoy the breeze. Order the big swell it’s the most palatable of the beers and just don’t get food.

Great food, and great service. Beer was pretty good! Definitely a must try if you like craft beer.

Great place to eat. Very clean and the staff is very tentative and kind. Lots of items to choose from and all very delicious. We tried many items from the menu with the group we brought and all of it was delicious. I can’t say enough about the staff and their care.
