According to this article, Prima is now closed: Prima in Kailua, which had an eight-year run serving some of O'ahu's best Neapolitan-style pizzas, quietly closed a few weeks ago. Owner Kanoe Sandefur says he recently acquired the Hooters Hawai'i franchise, so he's devoting his energy to that. "The day before I got approached, if you had asked me if there's any chance in hell (I would've taken over Hooters), I would've said 'you're high, what are you talking about?'" he says. "But I have a 1-year-old and a 3-year-old; I gotta sell out. The demographic is a million times wider than what I could ever hope for at Prima and V Lounge." (Sandefur was also a partner at the now-shuttered V Lounge, which had the same pizza recipe.) He plans on expanding Hooters in Hawai'i to three more locations. Meanwhile, plans for the Prima space are uncertain.

This place is shut down, closed! We went by there on Wednesday and Thursday nights around 8 and they were closed. I just walked by again (they are supposed to be open at 11:00 am}, and they are still closed.

The website menu is no longer valid. The pasta is garbage. The pizza is still decent. It depends on who is making it. The quality goes up and down. They have a big turnover with their chefs. Currently they only have cooks. Nobody really cooking. No chefs. I wouldn't dismiss them. I've had fantastic meals, just not lately.

Overall: Not bad Would I come again?: yup Recommend dish: their Brussel sprouts and margherita pizza Parking: not bad; there is lot parking in front of Prima, Foodland, and Baskin Robbins Service: friendly Ambiance: pretty chill, and you can watch them make your pizza in their pizza oven. There is outside seating as well I've eaten from here three times: once in the restaurant, and two for takeout. The first time my fiance and I dined in, the food was a tad salty; I had the soppressata pizza, and he ordered a pasta. The pizza was not bad, but I'll try other things before I circle back. The next two times for takeout, I was pleasantly surprised. My first take out order of a margherita pizza and Brussel sprouts was ready in twenty minutes. The brussels were crispy and the pizza hit the spot for the night. Not the best I've ever had, but it was tasty, cheesy and filling. My second takeout order was the fungi pizza. A little heavy on the truffle oil for me, and could use more cheese, but not bad, and great for takeout. Overall, I'll probably keep ordering pizza from here to go when I don't want to cook, and decide to treat myself. Enjoy!

I'm a fan of Prima. Thin crust and baked to perfection I enjoyed eating the pizzas here. The sales are also delish, they use some kind of magic in that homemade vinaigrette dressing they use. I wasn't able to try the pasta as they were out for lunch but i also here it's worth trying. A bit pricey when compared to "fast food" pizzas, but that's were quality comes into play. You're going to pay for what you get. I'd come back again the next time I'm in the Kailua area....which seems like once a year :p

Best pizza on this side of Oahu in Kaneohe. Not ur typical pizza parlor. Gotta try the roasted ceasar salad, you'll never go back to having the regular caesar salad again! Favorite pizzas were the mushroom and the fried egg pizza....Devine

Whether you want a date night spot or a night out with the girls, Prima is a prime spot for both. Although it is quite small, I never feel too packed in. I also enjoy sitting at the counter where you can watch some of the action behind the scenes (in the kitchen) each time I've come here the service has been more than sufficient and extra friendly/accommodating. As far as the food goes, I always feel satisfied. The portions are more than filling, so I am able to get a few things to share with friends, or if I'm especially hungry can finish it all on my own. I usually go for the peppers from the app menu and also get one of their pizzas which is perfected in a wood fired brick over. They also have a great cocktail menu as well, as I usually order the Jalapeí±o Margarita, the perfect combination of spicy and sweet.

I heard a lot of great reviews about this place. Came in today and had a hearty meal and it was awesome. Loved it.

Great food! Have been here a few times and have enjoyed different pizzas and some desserts. Just a heads up they are BYOB so bring something with you if you're wanting to have a drink with your pizza. Will be back!

Best dang pizza on the island. The lemon pizza is so unique and interesting! Too bad their pizzas are a bit pricey for a personal size pizza, otherwise I'd be here all the time!
