On our first visit on the first evening of the new year, 2025, we dropped in at 5 pm without reservations. Things were too up in the air on our end, so we took our chances, but upon arrival we made note of many signs reading "reserved" on the tables. We were seated at the last available 2-top on the patio thanks to an accommodating hostess. The interior seemed comfortable but not overly inviting. Our server was down-to-earth, willing to make recommendations, and suitably attentive without hovering. The food was great, a shrimp & black bean sauce and the red curry ahi tuna. Cocktails were good. We engaged in conversation with another table, one of those unexpected, connect-with-strangers experience that added to our enjoyment. We visit Kailua several times a year when spending time with family and we look forward to dining at this restaurant again.

Terrible service and terrible attitude from the hostess. We ordered takeout online and the order confirmation told us that the order would be ready at 6:19pm. I showed up at 6:30 and was told that the kitchen was backed up and the order would be out soon. No problem at it is the holidays.Went back to the car to wait. Came back 15-20 minutes later, no food and the hostess laughed and said that there was nothing she could do. Came back after another 15 minutes and no food. She called finally close to an hour after our was supposed to be ready. Picked up the order and told the hostess my frustration and she didn't seem to care. Have gone to Uahi many times in the past, not sure that I will go back for to this hostess and terrible service.

I dont know why I continue to punish myself by coming here. Every single time I do, I have to deal with one of the inconsiderate staff members who either put me on hold indefinitely, tell me 10 mins when it's 40+, or grumble when I ask them to adjust a part of my order that is SLIGHTLY off from menu description. The food is ok, and if you live in Kailua, you know that the selection for food is kinda limited if you don't want the same thing over and over. We'll, after today, I'm over it. Not going to gice these folks my business or money anymore. They're busy enough, they won't notice.

Stopped here for a bit to eat. So glad I did. I had the Uahi Sangria, red curry grilled fish with white rice and for dessert the lilikoi cheesecake. Each cooked to perfection and served with a smile from Oshen. She was the best.
Sitting is inside or outside with a cool, Aloha vibe.

So, first time ordering from this restaurant, did it via DoorDash. The Kalua pig and kale was awesome but the Beef tomato, though tasty, was tough. We will come by next time and try the other entrees because they sound inviting!

I ordered the surf and turf for lunch. The shrimp was very good. It would have been nice if the menu description said it came on a bed of rice because I ordered rice as one of my sides. I ordered the beef medium. It arrived medium but it was grisly and tough. The Korean Slaw was fairly tasteless. The rice was good. I would not recommend.
