Ordered a club sandwich but they forgot the turkey. It was take out so we already drove all the way home and my family started eating. Very bland sandwich, mostly bread. Tried to get some refund from door dash but wasn't able to.

Big City Diner is a great spot for a satisfying breakfast with a relaxed atmosphere. The food is quite good, offering a variety of classic morning dishes that are tasty and well-prepared. Everything feels fresh, and the ingredients seem carefully chosen to start the day right. I also appreciated how clean the restaurant is—tables, floors, and even the counters are spotless, which makes the dining experience pleasant and comfortable.

Service is another highlight. The staff is friendly and efficient, taking orders promptly and serving dishes quickly, so you never feel like you’re waiting too long. Despite being a popular place, the team keeps everything running smoothly.

The space itself is bright and airy, with plenty of natural light and good ventilation, creating a welcoming and open environment. Overall, Big City Diner delivers a solid breakfast experience with good food, quick service, and a clean, spacious setting.

It’s about the same as other Big City Diners, so so food, friendly service and dated decors. The hamburger with cheddar was okay, but the buns weren’t toasted so they basically disintegrated before I can finish my burger. The Eggs Benedict wasn’t too good especially its hollandaise sauce that was too thick and tasted off from others.

Our favorite Big City Diner location is the one inside Windward Mall in Kaneohe. We've known the owner Lane Muraoka before he opened his first location in Kaimuki. He also provided food donations to all my movie productions. So many restaurants turned me away but not him. His generosity and support will never be forgotten.

Now the ono food. We usually start with appetizers fried calamari and fresh poke. My wife loves all their sandwiches. I tend to order the same thing every time. Mamasan's meatloaf with rice sprinkled with furikake. On occasion I get the hamburger steak. Everything on their menu is delicious.

Magic shroom burger wit garlic fries nuff said. Great for meetings. Small kine long time wait for the food. It's worth eating but I just don't like waiting for something thats gonna take time to make. Lol my wifes order was wrong and they charged us for that extra plate. I wont stoop low and give 1 star. Everyone makes mistakes hope it doesn't happen again.

I was told this place had great pancakes but when I looked through the menu, I was not able to find any. Since I did not see the pancakes, I switched to having lunch instead and thought the Club sandwich was a good choice. Because the menu did not say it was served on Texas toast bread, I ordered it without changing the type of bread. 30 minutes later my Club sandwich came and just didn't looked right. Texas toast bread and a ball of lunch meat instead of being spread out. A ball of sliced avocado instead of spreading it out. Poorly put together, like they were in a rush after taking half an hour with it. We both ordered garlic fries but only one of our dishes came with while the other was regular fries but still, they tried to charge us for 2 garlic fries. Hawaii is paradise to many, but it's hard to think of it as such because it is difficult to find good food. I have yet to find good food in $ & $$ range.

We’ve been hosting our monthly networking events at Big City Diner Windward Mall for over three years now, and I can confidently say it’s one of the best-kept event space secrets on the Windward side.

Our meetings usually have between 9 and 20 attendees, and the service has always been exceptional. Jody, the head of catering, is a dream to work with—she checks in regularly and makes sure we always have a delicious variety of breakfast items. I personally can’t get enough of the French toast, and their bacon! Cooked perfectly every single time. The fruit platter is always loaded with fresh, in-season options that our guests love.

The private room is always ready to go by 8:00 AM without fail, set up just how we request it. For us, that’s usually a large square table so everyone can see each other, but they’re flexible with layouts. The team is always there to help with AV equipment and go the extra mile—like providing to-go boxes when there are leftovers (which isn’t often, because the food is that good!).

Plus, being located in Windward Mall means there’s never a parking issue—huge bonus when hosting events. Between the amazing service, quality catering, reliable setup, and free parking, Big City Diner is truly a rare find. I highly recommend it for any small business event, meeting, or gathering where great food and even better hospitality matter.

This is the place to go for breakfast. Great food, large portions and definitely super tasty. Loved the atmosphere..there's TV to watch football on Sunday for the game. We had the cinnamon French toast, salmon eggs Benedict, and corn beef hash and eggs with rice. Super yummy. Try them out if your in the area. Awesome grindz.

Came here with my family for food and drinks. Noticed the majority of the restaurant was empty or dead. Ordered this plate of “china town” fried noodles and it not only looked like shit buy tasted like grease and anything but fried noodles. Just gross and unappetizing. Over priced food that was just no good. Waitress was young and not as attentive but she did try to be available. Never coming back here unfortunately. Menus looked ghetto and had no pictures of the food you are getting so you have to guess and wonder what your getting lol. It’s pathetic. No drink menus for the bar. Looked pretty ghetto and no wonder this place has gone down hill since I last visited over 7-8 years ago. Do yourself a favor and go to Zippy’s or anywhere else lol.

Went for lunch with my wife. As we were leaving we overheard an elderly woman complaining about being charged for things she didn't order. Once we arrived home I checked the receipt and saw that I was also charged for something I didn't order. I called the restaurant and was told they would take care of it by the end of the night. Several days later the charge posted to my account for the full amount. I called back and explained the situation and I was told a note would be left for the general manager who would resolve the issue and call me back. Several more days passed and I didn't receive a call or a refund. I went in person and the GM came out to hand me a cash refund for A PORTION of the item I was charged for. Not only was I not given a full refund for something I was never provided, but I wasn't even given an apology or explanation as to why no one would resolve this issue for a week. Clearly the customer does not come first here.

The fact that this happened to at least two people on the same day and it was so difficult to get to a resolution should be concerning to any customers. If you dine here make sure to check your bill and make sure you are only paying for what you and your ohana ordered.
